I remember him running on the treadmill afterwards while India was getting smashed, maybe in hopes of somehow coming back on field.Siraj is out of the tour. Reminds me of Zak's hamstring injury in the UK 2011.

Nah hes fine. No, spouting bland truisms, offering the shallowest of insights and stumbling with words the whole way through counts as not that sharp (!!)
maybe I'm going blind, but from the little I've watched, Isn't this pitch horrendously difficult to score runs on?SA have done well here.
India have bowled well but the pitch does seem fairly reliable.
It's not a video game. The team batting has some agency too, give them credit. Could still be 50/3 tomorrow morning.I would have praised our bowling had we posted 380 in first innings.
The bowling is still very good, but wanted it to be 35/3.
Yeah @cnerd, did you just watch the last 10 overs? ?maybe I'm going blind, but from the little I've watched, Isn't this pitch horrendously difficult to score runs on?
The bowling's been quality more than anything else. Hasn't been much width on offer or anything overpitched. Playing short bowling has been tricky with inconsistent bounce, but it's not one of those decks where you're inevitably going to get an unplayable ball.Yeah @cnerd, did you just watch the last 10 overs? ?
I think it was easier to bat on than the Indians made it look with their technique to the short ball but the variable bounce that we saw in the SA innings changes things a bit. It might be a bit of a minefield by late tomorrow. The bowling's been quality more than anything else. Hasn't been much width on offer or anything overpitched. Don't think it's easy to score on but batting time should be possible, and if SA can bat out tomorrow they should have a decent lead.

AshWIN. ?Nice shot from Petersen last ball of the day.
Knowing South Africa Markram will probably end up getting dropped instead of being moved down to 4. He doesn’t shape up well against these Indian bowlers first up, but conversely is probably the only batsman South Africa have that could dominate this attack. 200 is a lot of runs for South Africa at home with their batting but losing Siraj is huge. Quality bowler.
Not the same amount, no. I thought it started doing much weirder things in those closing stages of play although I was doing other things while watching the India inningsYou did not see the variable bounce during the Indian innings?
Nah.. in RSA and especially highveld, as time goes on batting only becomes tougher. Why do you think sides choose to bat first in these tracks?or they battle through the tough conditions, and as time goes on the pitch becomes more favourable for batting,
and somehow they amass 300-350, which would probably be enough to win the game.
It has not been consistent but it is always there. And it is not always massive either. But even the subtler ones that got Pujara and Vihari kept happening and lets face it, those are the ones more likely to dismiss batsmen than the ones that massively misbehave. Not the same amount, no. I thought it started doing much weirder things in those closing stages of play although I was doing other things while watching the India innings
I didn't? I said two of those wickets were due to inconsistent bounce but subtler than the massive ones we saw in the 3rd session. India gave away a lot of wickets, none more culpable than Mayank. Having gotten off to a start, it was a very loose shot straight after drinks break. Rahane was dumb but he often is. Vihari and Pujara got good ones but Pujara looked like he had no idea how to score a single run out there. Pant was a bad shot, Shardul is always gonna live and die by the sword, Shami's was a good catch and then it was wickets due to batting with the tail. You can't blame the pitch for majority of the wickets in the game so far tho.
