Not normally but it seems like this ground does it this way so that they can display ads on whatever end isn't being used.

Yeah, sponsor ads get played in over breaks and when wicket falls. And unless my memory is very faulty (which it might be) they're also used to display game information, i.e. new batsmen and new bowlers.
Really they're just treated as another screen, like the big screens, and aside from replays and more detailed match info they display similar stuff.

I've said this before but I don't think you can call Bumrah getting a lower leg injury "horrible luck". It's unfortunately part of the deal you take with him.
