3rd Test at Melbourne - December 26 - 30

Just saw the highlights of the wickets.... Except the openers, feel every wicket was through batters' mistakes as much as good bowling.
Haseeb Hameed's dismissal reinforces my opinion, he's looked solid when he toured India 5 years ago when our bowling was decent, now barely survives. Can't blame him as he's facing the Australian bowlers and faced Siraj/Bumrah earlier this year.

Sack Stokes, sack Root

Sack them all and rebuild around their U/19s side

**** it. deport the lot of them and don't let them back in the country unless they can prove they can be competitive.
Yeah Pakistan have been rubbish in their last few tours but at least they did not stink it out for 5 tests at a time.

Well, the England selectors had a chance to pick Darren Stevens, but they didn't.

He could have got Marnus out for a pastime and been whacking Lyon over the fence every over. Obviously not as good a player as this motley lot.

Whatever it takes!!!
Its the mistake England and I guess even the Windies make. Due to the Dukes ball, I suppose the guys who can get 30s and 40s often are very valuable in those conditions. But they end up producing batsmen who cant really go for much beyond that even in decent to good batting conditions. The reason I said they have to go with Crawley, Lawrence and Bairstow over Hameed, Pope and Buttler is the same thing. These batsmen can make big scores if they get in, their issue is with movement which is far lesser in Australia than in England or Windies (with the Dukes) and perhaps NZ. Burns would enjoy batting with Crawley too as he wont be in the spotlight too much and score would be ticking over without him doing much. Same for Lawrence and Bairstow at 6 and 7. May finally free up Stokes to bat like a #6 than a #5 that he is attempting to be now, for some reason.

This series will legit be the career death of half their side. Be funny if it wasn't so sad
No it won't. When you have Bairstow as plan B and keep recalling him every time plan A fails (which is very often) I don't see lessons being learnt from it.

he shouldnt have sent them in to bat. this wicket is flatter than adelaide. there literally isnt anything for the bowlers on this pitch. adelaide had some sideways movement.

this game could be a boring snoozefest draw.
This prediction isn't looking very likely
