Whatever it takes!!!
Been happening for ages hasn't it? They've essentially given up. I remember a discussion on here a while back about how it is important for a bowler to know so they can adjust, but that it doesn't happen
Nah, the playing conditions were revised specifically to avoid these and its the third umpires' job to check every ball for the no-ball. I am afraid being dumb or incompetent does not really explain well enough here.

Maybe not, but neither does "the umpires are on their side". Australia are also missing out on runs for each no ball that is not called and doesn't result in a wicket.

Lol... I obviously meant that as a joke. As in, its hard enough to beat them as it is and now they have few more playing for them.

But that is seriously bad if they just sat there and overlooked obvious no balls. You have no excuse when you are watching a zillion replays to not call them, tbh. When Simon Taufel, one of the nicest guys, goes as far as to say "I cant explain it", you know something is ****ed up.

I just heard half statement on the C7 broadcast claiming (they were told) it's still the on field umpire's responsibility. Pretty sure that's bull****

I'll admit the fact someone clued Stokes in that it was a no ball, and it was possibly the umpire, suggests they should have called it (and the earlier ones). I guess it's possible it was a fielder though.

Yeah it is. The playing conditions change was brought in officially AFTER this year's IPL though. So the only benefit of doubt I can think of is that they are not yet used to it. The earlier condition was that every dismissal had to be checked for a no-ball. But even then, these officials should be fired for gross incompetence IMO.

We definitely need a new test captain and Silverwood to be sacked as well. Should also bring back Strauss as Director too because actually cared about red ball.

Yeah. Look, the right decision was made. There is no question about it. But how it came to that, leaves a lot to be desired. That is all. At best, even if it is just incompetence, it is a level of incompetence that should see them fired IMO.

I dunno how to feel about this anymore. As a rule, I always want the underdog to do well when the team/player I support is not involved. But every paddling like this makes our triumphs here that much more special. FFS. Learn to ****ing catch, England.

Rory Burns too busy helping the women's game to take catches, I see.

If Warner get this fifty here I'll just be waiting for the comment about him then wanting to 'cut loose'.

I mean given Smith will Smith at some point and Marnus looks like he's going to continue on his way, the last thing England would have wanted was to play Warner into form. Two shocking errors really.

I have a little sympathy for Stokes in that situation though, because if the umpire calls a couple of the earlier ones then he could have adjusted.

The number of people that don't get this amazes me. Yes, it's possible he might not have bowled Warner if he was 3" further back, but whenever the deliveries surrounding wickets off no balls are examined it's almost always apparent that there is a systematic failure to call them.

God Hayden's a peanut. Terrible commentator.
