I’m going to plump for him being a threat on this pitch, whether that translates into a five-for I’m not so sure. Such a small total on the board he probably doesn’t have the licence to be too expensive providing he’s taking wickets but he does need some leniency if he’s going to be a strike bowler and offer a genuine wicket-taking threat.I find it kind of hard to tell whether Wood will be seriously threatening, or completely powderpuff. He seems to only be one or the other.
But there's always the risk with him that he becomes one-dimensional and easy to put away, which would kill the whole attack.
Not a cloud in the skySuch a bad decision to bat today
It’s been raining here for weeks, pitch was green and all you needed to do was look up to know that it was perfect bowling conditions
Forecasts change
Current conditions don’t
If it’s bright sunshine tomorrow then Root has totally stuffed up here
Depends if it quickens up today. Sometimes it does. Makes it harder to adjust if that's the case. Will be an interesting first session. England needs to pick up four before lunch, including Smith, if they're going to have a chance. I'd expect them to come out pretty hard first up.The pitch looks to me like it'll suit Wood. Everyone is saying the bounce isn't too pronounced but I haven't seen any Australian cricket in ages and it looks to me like they're playing on a trampoline. Just nothing like the home pitches Wood is useless on.
Usually only when it's been sunny though.Depends if it quickens up today. Sometimes it does.
More than enough for Harris to nick offEh its just 20 minutes of clear skies
FTA is Seven, streaming is Kayo (Fox Sports streaming service). Or there's Fox pay tv itself. What channel is cricket on now?
"Heavy ball" merchant; gets lots of bounce and hits the seam so always looks a bit quicker than he registers. The speed gun was saying Robinson bowling at high 120s there, but seemed quicker to me? Good areas early doors.
