The FINAL, Australia v New Zealand (THE BATTLE OF THE MITCHELLS) at the Ring of Fire, Dubai-- 11/14 Sunday (N)

Meridio

International Regular
I thought it was 50/50 at half time, maybe we were slight favourites given how good our bowling attack has been. But my god we bowled badly, and Marsh came in and just middled everything. Never looked in doubt, the lack of control from our spinners meant they didn't need to go looking for boundaries. Really disappointing.

Congrats Aus. Enjoy the title for the (...checks calendar...) next 11 months.

Actually, what a **** weekend for NZ sport, give the ABs lost to Ireland of all sides as well

“what does this mean for the nation?”
Fmd Bish, we win WCs for fun. It’s just another day here.
I guess the real satisfaction would come from when your team blows us away the next time they tour India for tests and that too without any spinner, just three fast bowlers doing the job.

Tbh I do still feel that 1/57 off 10 overs is kind of catastrophic. KW's innings papered over the cracks but that's basically a 20-run handicap you're playing with there.

We all have a guy like TPC in group projects who does **** all but gets credited at the end

I think Milne bowled pretty well after his first over, but apart from Boult, the others were terrible

Find it funny seeing Bishop interviewing Langer given he concussed him on dayboo at Adelaide in 92/93

actually, langers head knocks might explain a bit tbh.

the good news for other nations is this will have him keep his job for another two years

Very true but also it was entirely in keeping with how we’ve approached the whole tournament and a somewhat understandable lack of faith in our shallow batting. I doubt we even set out to score as many as we did off 20.

I literally had no idea who your team is or what the **** you’re talking about tbh

Tbf until you made that reference no one in aus was aware the wallabies were touring. So there’s that.
Yeah right 8-)8-)

Pretty extensive coverage on the Sydney Morning Herald, so surely a big time newspaper like that wont waste space on a 'nothing event'

Mitch Marsh seems like a really nice bloke. I know his test chances are gone with Green but hope he'd go on to have a Symonds like career
