Stumped!

ZCC really struggling in T20 Div 1. The step up is steep and we didn't really strengthen the team. Doesn't help I forgot to set orders sigh.

At some point I'll need to trim the squad to reduce wages and focus on rebuilding that bank balance so I can sign some top tier talent. No idea how these Div 1 sides assemble teams so strong, I can only asume they're much better at playing the TM.

Just noticed Schmaltzberg's win over a full strength FHK team too! Much bigger ratings gap, and I think that's the newer Dynamo's first ever win over the full strength FHK side! Big achievement that. 200 was our MAS, so they bowled well to keep us to just that much, and the left our spinners wicketless in the chase.

We've been toying with Ted Hui as a starter in the OD First XI at the expense of Michael Spavor for a while now, but it doesn't seem to quite work yet. Maybe more tinkering needed.

FHK with a shocker of a batting performance against ZCC in the CWC3 today. Won the toss, elected to bat first, full strength lineup, but 126 a/o. ZCC on track for an upset.

Morpork bossing around Schmaltzberg in the other darby CWC3 game today. The two SCC1 teams with strong showings too - Moooo bowling out the Astronauts for just 108, and GG CC piling on 200 vs Honest Hunks. Jura got 162 vs WCC, which is a middling score, but have nabbed 2 wickets in the first 3 overs! And TMO unfortunately without another batting implosion as well - 104 a/o, AXI off to a strong start in response.

Jura have reversed a run of poor results due to poor management and lacklustre cricket in the CWC during recent weeks. Two teams, who (on paper) were very evenly matched, played out a cat and mouse match that went all the way to the final over. Jura have to thank 'The Goon' and comically named (according to you lot!) 'Sajid Sajid for some fantastic bowling at the beginning and end of the Winton innings. Neither are death bowlers but they certainly held their nerve as two of the more experienced 'yoof' in Jura's young squad. Play-offs look safe now.

As an added Tigwell dropped the final wicket in the 49th over. So really was that close.
The new guys who were bowling at more than 90 mph+?
One of them maybe. His accuracy is poor and giving lots of runs. But undecided.
First will likely be the opener and temporary captain Sree which after his good start has disappointed. High wage and a bit older.

Yes, a great game @Charlie B going right to the death - key fightback from your batting unit after a poor start to set a competitive and eventually match-winning score.

The Buy-Ins gave their esteemed competitors in the CUP a bit of a scare at the weekend. We came up against the famous Penguin Squad (ranked 46th in the World and a solid Div 2 side in all competitions). On paper the Expert Preview held out no hope for us and after 30 overs they passed 200 batting first - making a score of 350-375 look well on the cards.

Somehow we managed to curtail the T20 tactics at the end of the innings but 287 still looked a mountain. However at 176 -2 after 30 overs we scared the Penguins enough for their manager to start mailing asking what was going on and that he feared defeat. It couldn't last of course - once the old hands (the Buy -ins !) tumbled we were left with a collection of spotty teenagers who treated the bat like a broom handle - and lost our last 8 wickets for 11 runs ....but for a delicious moment ...we tilted at windmills!?

Big wins for both FHK and ZCC in the Dev last night! Glad to see the young guns doing well in league cricket.

FHK vs AXI friendly right now. Full strength team again, persisting with T Hui in place of M Spavor. Lots of wear on the wicket and we got bowled out for less than 200 batting first, which is not ideal. AXI solid in the chase atm. Only a 4k rating gap between the two sides!

Shaffrey smashing Lai for consecutive sixes on a dry, weared pitch is classy. 62* (59) for him. Weird game in terms of pacing. 66 (124) for Qasim Abdullah, 63 (122) for Shawn Dee. Won it in the end thanks to a set Shaffrey and a slogging Kurt proving that runs could be scored quickly on that wicket.

Good game, I always enjoy playing FHK.

Easy win for AXI in the end. Ted Hui bleeding 56 in his 10 overs - don't think he's quite first-team material yet. Spavor probably more economical + could have used his batting in these conditions.

Good game, nice close competitive match.
