This one will be close. I love Ambrose, but believe Hadlee will easily win this one. Both top 5 bowlers of all time though.

Richard Hadlee, arguably the finest fast bowler ever to play the game. After a slow start to his career just seemed to get better and better with time.

Yep Hadlee by a whisker.

For me, Hadlee's no. 2 greatest pace bowler of all time after Marshall, and Ambrose no. 3. so couldn't be closer.

Hadlee is my 2nd or 3rd greatest bowler after Akram and Marshall ( not sure )
Ambrose - 10 places lower at 12 or 13.

So, Hadlee > Ambrose as a bowler
As a player
Hadlee >> Ambrose.

Clearly Hadlee for me.

Ambrose is one of the top few bowlers ever, so there really isn't much in it at all, but in terms of razor-thin margins, Hadlees ability to consistently pick up wickets is a massive advantage.

Hadlee sounds like someone who would be revered a lot more globally if he'd played for a bigger nation. I've binged a lot of videos of him lately. Every inch of his run up and every movement of his action seems to have been measured, repeated, fine-tuned and committed to muscle memory. It's a wonderful, gliding, graceful thing of quite stunning precision.

Sounds like you are describing a worse, but better looking version of Ambrose.
