Comfortable win for FHK in the end. Qasim Abdullah ending on 108*, his first century in Friendly OD games. Contributions throughout the order, got there with 6.2 overs to spare.

@cnerd123 thanks for game. Good win for FHK. Happy with overall the performance of the TMOs. Little worried about Tyagi, not been performing consistently for awhile and keeps going for runs. Meant to be a top bowler for me.
What kind of fields do you give him? Is he bleeding too many boundaries or getting milked for too many singles?

Giving him defensive fields. But he is both giving singles and getting hit for occasional boundary. Tough on him because my ground is fast and high moisture. But he has struggled at other grounds as well

Mooo are in a spot of bother here. They are chasing 180 put up by Winton CC...currently on 45/4 in the 9th over. The batsmen went hard and got themselves out. It's now up to the lower order to salvage this chase.

Man, I just love Cornelius Human at number 3. He's so good at rotating the strike...and there are more chances now for him to bat with his brother Bram and really cause devastation and destruction to opposing teams.

Cornelius is currently on 34 off 45, batting along with Ernst Levy who is the aggressor in this partnership for the second wicket.

GG are 78/1 in the 15th over against Mooo

Got to 208-6 in a T20 vs Winton CC, some sort of a record. Rusty Frost hit 53 (26), his first fifty in quite a time. However, him hitting it against a 41K team does give credence to the idea that he can't hit runs against a quality opposition. Shaffrey showcased his dominance with 52* (29), and Clift and du Preez also played good hands. Gwacela (3-25) star bowler.

Didn't get to set orders - although whilst its left my batting order a tad muddled - it is close to my first choice bowling outfit. Gwacela, Labuschagne and Rizwan certainly first choice, Luqe 2nd choice spinner until yesterday too and Glenn our first choice allrounder. Oddly, one of our most successful bowlers was Pasha who would be nowhere near bowling if I had set orders!

Jennings breaks record for Winton CC

Jacob Jennings has become the highest run-scorer in the history of Winton CC. His 74 not out in the 1st Round loss in the Cup sees him usurp current club captain Yosuke Glenn as the top run-scorer for the club in competitive matches. In the 5 wicket loss on 24 October against Legend Killiers, Jacob Jennings top-scored with 74* in a rare captaincy appearance for the 20-year-old right-hander despite the presence of regular captain Yosuke Glenn on the field who was out LBW for 1.

With most of his competitive outings for the Winton development XI, Jennings has broken the record in 53 innings, including 14 not outs. Jennings scored his only competitive hundred last month in a 273 run bot-bashing win as he scored 136 off 120. Jennings also finds himself with the 4th highest average in the clubs history amongst players with over 10 competitive innings for the club, falling behind Dwayne Dickens, Brendan Studsor and Vivian Wyatt

Jasper Davey (3-21) and Juan Goliath (3-32) ensured there were no big surprises in the 2nd innings after Ataraxia scored 208/6 batting first following valuable contributions from all of their top 4 in today's T20. Faisal Jawad (33 off 20) and Yosuke Glenn (45 off 30) had flourished for a while in a 71 run partnership off 46 balls for the 2nd wicket. However, after the economical Frans Potgieter (2-16) got the first of his 2 wickets seeing captain Yosuke Glenn caught behind, Winton CC collapsed thereafter tumbling from 77-1 and 102-3 to 124 all out. Juan Goliath recording his 12th 3-fer in 37 T20 friendly matches for Ataraxia

Two big wickets for Dynamo have given them a glimmer of hope in the prestigious clash with *CC, Raun Shkorer dragging one from Van Heerdens onto his stumps after a blistering 81 and Hashan de Melho smashing Fouche jr.'s last ball of the day straight down Bronkhorst at midwicket. Looking to chase around 250, in what would be Morpork's first ever 50-over win against *CC.

Also 26 pops today, mostly on the kids

Winton CC continue winless run vs Dynamo Morpork

Winton CC made it 8 straight defeats and 6 consecutive Development XI defeats against yesterday's opponents Dynamo Morpork at Winton.

Captain Yosuke Glenn was the first man out for a painstaking 14 off 33 - clean bowled by a 91mph delivery by Fred Clarke following a slow start by Winton CC which yielded just 23 runs off 10.2 overs.

The previously restraint Nazar Pasha who had found himself 9 off 37 at one point, began to signal greater intent following the dismissal of his captain, taking off-spinner Martijn Van Heerdens (0-32 from 6) for 3 boundaries off the 14th over. Pasha was eventually 2nd man out for 39 from 75, caught behind off medium-pacer Ralph Arnold (1-17 from 6) after compiling a 2nd wicket partnership of 57 runs off 76 balls with the busy Rob Tweddle (32 off 39) who fell to Nishad Savundranayagam 8 balls later. From 91/3 after 24.2 overs, Jacob Jennings (29 off 42) and Edward Lever (44 not out from 40) put on Winton CC's best partnership of the match, combining for a 4th wicket partnership of 66 off 76 balls. The dismissal of Jacob Jennings to left-arm seamer Steph Hozier saw Winton CC at 157-4 with 3 overs remaining. Winton CC scored 16 off the next 9 balls before Steph Hozier took two more wickets to post figures of 3-45 from his 8 overs. Those wickets contributed to what was a disappointing end for Winton CC scoring just 1 from their final 9 deliveries to eventually post 174-6 from their 40 overs.

In response Dynamo Morpork got off to a much more proactive start with opener Menno Fouche taking spinner Sabir Rizwan for 11 runs in the 2nd over as Dynamo Morpork reached 38/0 after 8 overs with Fouche particularly severe on the Winton CC bowling. Fouche continued his attacking approach until being bowled by Muchaneta Gwacela, a rare moment to celebrate for Winton CC and Gwacela who initially brought some calm to proceedings conceding just the 8 runs off his first 3 overs. In contrast Sabir Rizwan, returning after 1 solitary over with the new ball, conceded 16 off his 2 overs immediately after Fouche's dismissal - as Dynamo Morpork reached 81/1 after 15 overs with new batsman Simbarashe Mthabela showing immediate intent in joining opener Phillip Hughes.

The pair combined for 89 off 84 balls before Matt Lang clean bowled Phillip Hughes for 66 off 78 balls with Simbarashe Mthabela particularly severe on Muchaneta Gwacela (1-40 off 6 overs) upon his return to the bowling crease taking the left-armer for 14 and 15-run overs either side of Phillip Hughes departure. Simbarashe Mthabela (59 not out off 45 balls) and captain Martijn Van Heerdens (6 not out off 6 balls) calmly collected the remaining runs as Dynamo Morpork won emphatically by 8 wickets with 74 balls to spare.

ZCC lost the friendly to Dynamo Morpork too - somewhat 2nd-string bowling attack unable to defend 270 in good batting conditions. 270 was probably somewhat below par to begin with, and it didn't help that SA National bowler Chung Yiu went for 58 in 8.5 wicketless overs.

Bowling's been a real problem for us this season - we're getting thumped for a ton of run in all our senior league fixtures. Pitches have generally been good to bat on, and I think we lack a real x-factor in our attack. Someone either with real pace, or who gets a lot of movement. A couple of front-liners are starting to age as well. Will be trying more defensive orders moving forward, but really need Tim Chester and Sampath Ramalingam to come of age soon, or we're in for a tough season. Bright spot is they both bowled well here - highest bowling quality of the attack!

Gotta re-asses what our home pitch is going to look like as well.

Moo won their bot-bash
GG CC fell in a tightly fought game.

Now on to a friendly between the two of them starting in a few minutes. Moooo have trounced GG in the last two encounters, even with big-budget players in the latter's team.

There's a guy called Mark Jardine, an all-rounder, who only came in the team a few days ago and have already cracked a century 122(88 balls) batting at number 5. He's played 2 Fr games and his contributions are as follows:

47(37 balls, 4x4; 2x6) & 6-0-26-0
122 (88 balls, 15x4; 2x6) & 6-0-33-0, 1catch

In the OD league match today, he made 4 off 9 balls, and bowling figures of 6-1-29-0

Yet to pick up a wicket but it'll come soon.

CWC lead, Playoffs at stake at Five Demands Cricket Ground

Winton CC travel to Free HK's Five Demands Cricket Ground later today in a huge match for both sides as they chase the playoffs and the top of the table respectively.

Today represents the first of 3 matches against the current top-6 for Free HK in a tough run-in with trips to Zora*x CC and Jura CC on the horizon. Such a run-in makes today's game a key one for Free HK who will seek to overhaul Dynamo Morpork who currently lead CWC by a single bonus point. 1 defeat in 12 has seen Free HK overcome an initial stumble which saw defeats against Dynamo Morpork and a surprise loss away at Ashgrove Astronauts leave them with 2 defeats in their first 6 matches. They will be hoping fast bowler Joshua Wong, capable of easily exceeding speeds of 90mph can continue the form that has seen them be the leading wicket taker of the CWC so far.

For visitors Winton CC its been a welcome return to form with 3 CWC wins in a row re-igniting their fading playoff hopes and they will hope to keep their playoff chances just about in their own hands by beating a Free HK side who have been in imperious form. Winton CC will have a lot of hopes resting on Jacob Jennings to continue his prolific run-scoring in the CWC after 291 runs in the last 7 CWC innings. Following the sale of 5th top-wicket taker and most economical bowler in the CWC Adam Simons, Winton CC will be hoping others can step up with an improved bowling effort this afternoon.

A look around the grounds

Elsewhere, in the CWC this afternoon, leaders Dynamo Morpork will be hoping to reinforce their title credentials as they host an improving Moo side with 3 wins in their last 4 including eyecatching wins v GG CC and Zora*x CC. Dynamo's 3 defeats have all come in their last 9 matches but they know bonus point wins in their 4 remaining games will see them win the group phase of the CWC

Meanwhile, Dynamo Schmaltzberg will be hoping they can continue a run of positive form of their own as they travel to GG CC later today. Dynamo Schmaltzberg have won 3 of their last 4 to climb off the bottom of the table, meanwhile GG CC comfortably placed in 4th will be hoping to re-find the form that saw them win 6 in a row - their winning streak ending last week at Moo.

In a keenly awaited bottom-half clash between The Merry Orangutans and Ashgrove Astronauts pride is at stake with both sides knowing a win could see them rise up the table. Bottom-placed The Merry Orangutans have 3 games against the top-7 to follow so today's game may represent the best opportunity to climb off the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, the out-of-form Ashgrove Astronauts will seek to resurrect some of the form that provided early optimisim of a potential playoff push. They will seek to get their first win in 9 CWC games later today.

Jura CC host Ataraxia in a game that has the potential to be the match of the round as Jura CC seek a win that could confirm 3rd spot if things go their way. Jura CC won away at Ashgrove Astronauts to return to form after consecutive losses and are up against an Ataraxia side with plenty to play for as they seek the final playoff spot with 4 games to go. A nightmare run of games has seen form for Ataraxia deteriorate finding just 2 wins from 6 as they face their 6th game in 7 against a top-6 side. However, with 3 of the bottom 5 to play after this Ataraxia remain decently-placed.

Lastly, Zora*x CC travel to Honest Hunks as Zora*x CC seek to keep up slim hopes of a 3rd placed finish. With a game against Jura still to play, Zora*x know a victory here, coupled with defeat for Jura at home to Ataraxia would throw the race for 3rd wide open. Disappointing defeats for Zora*x CC against playoff hopefuls Moo, Ataraxia and Winton leaves Zora*x CC with 1 win in 4. They will hope to return to winning ways against a Honest Hunks side winless in 7.

Oh no just seen my R1 Cup Draw - I'm up against 26th ranked side in the world!
Apologies JJ - I have been a bit 'under the weather' and forgot to set my orders for the CWC last night - I would want to play my best team fair and square against everyone so that the Top 6 prevail
