I see you support the promotion of foetuses based on one innings when it suits you. ;)
The man has excelled at every level he's played and is 23. Spud Edwards was literally averaging 12 in first grade when he was called into the NSW side because he had a ****ing perm and lived in Manly. Sangha likewise useless. They average 25 and 23 respectively after playing more than a dozen matches. They're woeful. Spuds.

I've seen better batsmen in park cricket than either of them, and I say that sincerely.

Meanwhile, this fine young cricketer, who's spent the day dominating the attack of the defending champions like they're an under 10s outfit, was forced to move States to get a gig despite reeling off consistent numbers in first grade over a couple of seasons.

Junk selections from NSW as usual. Picking not just foetuses, but the wrong foetuses.

Where are Aust heading after this? Vaguely remember they have cricket in the subcontinent. Also can the SA series happen? Just need to see them playing some ****ing cricket

SL then India. With the dynamic duo in charge I'm expecting it to be a ****show of epic proportions, considering we couldn't even get away the Indian bowlers at home.

One thing lehmann did was preping the **** out of the players for the 2017 india series and making it somewhat competent, hopefully langer can achieve something similiar.

Preparation be blowed, Langer's defeatist attitude is the issue. It's hard winning when your coach is publicly saying that India is unbeatable due to their population whilst not reminding Smith that he can move his feet against Aswhin.

After his ton yesterday CA have genuinly begun arguing for tim ward to get an ashes gig because he played a game against ollie robinson and craig overton once and made 19. He's also apparently the next hayden based on one slog sweep. More at 7.

Tim Ward will deserve consideration for an Ashes gig if he scores consistently in the lead up to the series. And by consistently I mean piles on lots of tons, not cute little 50s and 60s. There aren't many options as far as openers go to partner Warner who haven't already been tried and proven as failures, and the bloke who has proven successful there seems very much on the outer with the coach.

Langer, Strauss and Collingwood playing for their respective sides would probably strengthen the teams.

why have preparation when you could have platitudes and motivational posters instead

It's as much a function of the huge amount of test cricket England plays, or as I call it the 'Jimmy Anderson's test wickets column effect'.
Trying to demean someone who’s been playing Tests for 18 years and performs the physically most demanding task in Test Cricket by pointing out how often their team plays is not the smartest diss tbh

If England played as many tests a year as New Zealand he'd have far fewer test wickets, yet due to domestic cricket etc. the workload across his career would be close to the same.

Not like intensity levels are different at the very top. Not like being both fit and good enough to play Test Cricket for close to two decades is an achievement in itself. Not like the fact his average has actually improved consistently as he’s got older is noteworthy.

no he’s purely a beneficiary of England’s schedule and that’s it 8-)
