oh you are totally right, there's people on all sides who do this - it's not as if it's a phenomenon exclusive to "the left", if it is exclusive to anywhere it's purely the domain of people to whom politics is entirely performative and devoid of substance altogether.

i think my favourite "cancel culture" furore had to definitely be during the BLM protests around the world some guy tweeted "acab includes the dog from pawpatrol. this dog has to be put down. sorry i don't make the rules" and it was absolutely seized upon here by far right wing news outlets and ch7 (so, i should just say far right news outlets), to say that "THE LEFT is trying to cancel pawpatrol"
