Right, time for an update. My pull this week was a 39 pot seamer who attracted a $1K bid on the TM. 16 pops, most batting. Older Dev players Michael Winton up to 30 skill and Kurt Murdoch up to 33 skill. Bowling all-rounder Frans Potgieter up to 22 bat. Esteemed opening duo Rusty Frost up to 29 skill and Ghous Saadi up to 28. Few incremental pops as well, most notably young 'un Zac Chambers up to 20/9 bat/keep.

Had a match against Winton CC, a low scoring affair. 128ao played 129-6 as my boys eventually prevailed. Interesting Moooo/GG match, with a couple of centuries on a tough batting deck.

Jan du Preez registered his 4th hundred in my SOD division this season, and all were big ones (albeit against bots). 133 (82), 172 (128), 146 (102), and now 135 (91). He was ably supported by a couple of opener fifties and a classic Murdoch 62 (37) to reach 424-7, I believe my biggest total ever.

Three big matches in three days in three divisions coming up that could all decide my promotion fates.

This weeks Youth Pull has just gone for £315k - riches indeed certainly my most ever- I'll put it under the mattress for the day when/if Div 2 ever arrives!

Bram Human found the right time to get back into form:

101(86) v Mooo last night in a 50-over friendly

55(43) v Ataraxia in today’s CW league match
Good win for you, my bowling struggled sans Ludlow.

Kurt Murdoch bowled for the first time in 60+ games and immediately got greeted with a dropped catch, that was the game.

What an utterly, utterly mad T20 team innings against Morpork as I fielded an oddish batting order. My two best batsmen were run out, Frost didn't fire, and big wickets kept falling. 58-4 (10). Pinch-hitter Liam Kotze then smashed 11 (5). Last batsman Michael Winton then went 6-4-4-out and I was 100-7 (14) and 118-8 (17). Jasper Davey, demoted to 9, registered 6-6-4 before holing out. If this all wasn't enough, Steve Ludlow carried out remarkably well his favourite pastime: trolling Dynamo teams with the bat. 27* (9) lol. And somehow we managed to get to 166.

Morpork chased it down fairly easily. Simbarashe Mthabela hit 67 (50) to guide them home in a very fun game. To top it off with some nice symmetry, the game ended with Ludlow being hit for a couple of sixes.

Crazy T20 between Schmaltzberg and FHK just concluded. Dynamo went from needing 24 to win in 30 balls to losing by 3 runs. Lai O Yin worked his magic, and Goonewardene was left tearing his hair out. 63* off 39 after 15 overs, only faced another 6 deliveries after that, spent the other 18 watching as his teammates threw the game away. Madness.

The last recognized pair in the middle for Moooo. Truman is key to this chase, just need Jawad to hang around. 120 more to get at just under 6 an over.

@ataraxia just need a breakthrough and it will be curtains.

Got a good pull:toot:42 pot seamer, already 24 skill, Sanne Nel. Looking to have a productive Dev career for the side.

My T20 match is my first proper match since, er... 13 August. It's going well so far.

ZCC went from 149/2 in 17.4 to 150/8 in 20. 6 wickets for 1 run in 14 balls. Madness. Shkorer got out, and we then lost 5 wickets in the penultimate over, leading Sajith to just block out a maiden in the final over. Scenes.

We lost by 4 wickets. Zzzz. Shocker of a result. Bowling was doing okay but just not enough runs on the board. Plus I think they were still a bit rattled by that batting effort.

Lost our spot at the top of the table with just 2 weeks to go. Ah well. All we can do now is win these last 2 and hope for the best.

I reckon 220 on this wicket is a good score for ataraxia to defend. Some power-hitters are slated to come down the order.

93/4 in the middle of the 25th over.

Free HK 2148 (+2) - P57 W37 L20 (65%)
Dynamo Morpork 2137 (-1) - P50 W38 T1 L11 (77%)
Jura 2056 (-1) - P20 W13 L7 (65%)
ataraXIa 1972 (+5) - P90 W40 L50 (44%)
Ashgrove Astronauts 1970 (-1) - P38 W17 L21 (45%)
Dynamo Schmaltzberg 1967 (+1) - P57 W26 T1 L30 (46%)
Winton 1955 (+1) - P51 W27 L24 (53%)
Honest Hunks 1943 (-2) - P23 W11 L12 (48%)
The Merry Orangutans 1936 (+1) - P65 W20 L45 (31%)
GG CC 1916 (-5) - P74 W41 T1 L32 (56%)
Moooo 1830 (=) - P74 W21 T1 L52 (40%)

GG gained a lot of points from the ataraXIa win, but would have been two places higher without the afternoon loss to Mooo.

Intense SOD, went right down to the wire. Was in distress at 40-4 in response to 209-9, before the duo of Dee and Murdoch combined to grit together for over 20 overs before Dee was bowled for a tremendous 65 (116). At 130-5 it looked unlikely but Murdoch kept going through yet another uphill skiing knock. The target was 9 off the last over, and #8 Jasper Davey was on strike. 1-6-1-0-4. What a game and an ATG Iceman knock from Kurt Murdoch, 82* (102).

I'm just about still in the hunt for promotion. I have to get a huge win over a 57K team to be promoted, but hey, never say never.
