Good performance from India. The match started to change at 120 for 7 on day one. When it has to be said some England fans were already celebrating a series win and some Indian fans were wanting their team beaten over the heads with something wet.
You may be right there. It felt a different game for our openers to face a few overs after Thakur's assault, compared to starting out if we'd dismissed them for 130 odd. The other turning point was when our first innings fizzled out far too quickly, as if we'd already won the match. We actually did something similar in the previous test, but there our lead was so big that their mini-revival in the 3rd innings didn't matter. The other factor was our comedy catching of course.

Whatever it takes!!!
Not sure what went wrong really, England looked comfortable last night and with such elite test batsman like Bairstow and Ali to come it looked an easy England win.
I got the other posts but this is not in good taste dude. We have received enough losses as India fans to know why rubbing it in is so cheap.

England's batting felt like the huge missed opportunity, so many wickets were gifted, such as Moeen, Hameed, Robinson and, as ridiculous as it sounds, Woakes (who I think could have got loads more).

That's a great win! Awesome bowling on a dead track.

I am just wondering, did the openers go too slow, leaving a draw as the only possible outcome for them? Jadeja looked lethal against the left handers, but he didn't have much going against the right handed batsmen, and not much help for the pacers. After the lunch, the target was more or less out of reach and the Indian bowlers had the full license to attack the batsmen, just like the Lord's game. A little bit of positive intent before lunch would have helped England's cause.

Looks like I missed a special spell. Hussain, Warne, Root, Silverwood, Kohli, Atherton have all been praising Bumrah’s spell to high heavens.

Fair play India. Better team won. Dare I say the extra Indian pace was maybe the decisive factor? The slightly monochromatic nature of our attack is really shown up when the ball refuses to go off the straight.

Just listened to Silverwood's interview. He's a deeply unimpressive speaker. The lack of insight was almost zen like.

More than a few folks on CW were saying that Anderson should be rested and Wood play instead of him in this one. If only Silverwood had listened to them. Talking of whom, cricket's version of Steve McLaren?

Given who our alternatives are samey-ness is the lesser of two evils imo
