the last Test match has decent amount of rain forecast right? So this might be the last one with a result?
Probably, but both sides are capable of being bowled out quickly. But the likeliest scenario is this will be only the second time that England have lost two home series in the same summer. The other time was India and NZ too, btw.

When did they last fail to win a series in a summer? I know 2019 was just one Test against Ireland so that does not really count but apart from that I don't know when.

Going from the last line of wpdavid's post you quoted I'm guessing 1999.

I'll guess 2001, when Australia walloped us 4-1 and we drew 1-1 with Pakistan.

Whatever it takes!!!
I know he said something racist some years back but that is very unfortunate for Overton. He came across like a guy who has learned his lessons in the TGC interview he did too. Its never nice when someone is hit on the cricket field. That looked very painful.

Being tall has its own disadvantages when batting on such wickets against such pace.

I don’t think I’ve seen this many high quality yorkers in a day of test cricket before.

2006 and 2002 when Pakistan played over here spring to mind. I think the prime cases in both of those years were at The Oval too.
