Most selfish act in international cricket history by an individual player

I could be wrong, it's possible that Swann being such an obnoxious turd (which surely is one thing that can be entirely agreed upon) has made me more sceptical of the whole situation.

I don't know. Answers on a postcard?
I don't listen to him much TBH, but he's not worse than Vaughan, but that maybe the faintest praise ever given....

The thing about the Swann situation was that he had surgery that year to get rid of the bone fragments and I remember reading articles about the time of '13 Ashes about how good it was to be bowling without pain.

If you've ever had shoulder surgery the pain never goes away... you learn to live with it and make the best of it.

I honestly have never been entirely convinced his elbow issues were ever as serious as they were made out to be.

He knew he would land on his feet with a decently paid media career anyway
It’s possible he struggled for a while. Pietersen played through injury a lot around the same time.

Whatever to call it the most selfish act in cricket ever, is ridiculous, he never played a match again, and was clearly injured, would think despite what a **** he is, it doesn't rate in the top 1000

Tendulkar 100th 100, and the end of his career in general
Assuming said in jest but there is some truth to it. I reckon he kept on playing test cricket because Kallis was still playing and Kallis was the only one who could break his record of most test hundreds at that time. So, he kept dragging on.

Of course this is all speculation but knowing how much Sachin valued his records, this scenario makes sense to me.

the fact he also waited til he brought up his 200th test is all the extra proof I need Sachin was hanging around for himself

Jim Laker taking all 10 in an innings.
Also, Kumble.
I never saw the game but have been told by those who did, that when Kumble was close to getting those wickets, other bowlers purposely bowled wide balls ie. non-wicket taking deliveries so that Anil can reach the milestone. Thought it is interesting.

Someone who saw the game can comment.

It was only Srinath and only after he got 9 wickets.
