Now averaging under 40 for the summer. Not that he's going anywhere of course, but I'd just like to see him push on more often. The other problem is that Hameed has been totally becalmed this morning. In that sense, the wrong opener has just been dismissed.
I think you just have to hope you miss that. Perfect line and length and it's the first ball to do anything all innings.

Jadeja isn't even bowling into the footmarks to Hameed, he's just bowling straight from over the wicket.

Yeah, it sounds like he copped a decent delivery. And obviously his failure to push on isn't deliberate. Maybe we'll see him do this in the Ashes and score 760+ out there.

Starting with a deep backward point to both batsman is interesting. Suggests that part of their morning strategy is to take the England win out of the equation and so far they're succeeding.
