Who knows how it’ll play in the 4th innings but right now it’s completely flat.I've not been able to watch more than a few balls so far today - how does the pitch look to be playing? Any confidence at all in England chasing this?
On height. That was never going over though. Plumb. I think the bails should belong to the bowler personally, like the line is the umpires on a run out / stumping. A seam bowlers perfectly delivery is usually considered top of off stump! That’s umpires call!Yeah, that's why we shouldn't piss away our reviews.
Looks fairly adjacent.
EDIT: Umpire's call.
And again. My word that was just contemptuously dismissive.
England's batting does rather take the pitch out of the equation though.Who knows how it’ll play in the 4th innings but right now it’s completely flat.
He was just making excuses to try to close the gap like strike rate, era including for example saying Laker’s stats are boosted by the 19 wicket haul - almost implying the gap between them is actually smaller because Laker dared to take 19 in a game , you don’t disregard a player’s best game (nor their worst). The gap between them is pretty massive. Ali has decent stats for all rounder, but Laker has excellent stats for a frontline spinner !Did he actually say that Moeen is better than Laker? Genuine question as I'm not watching the match on Sky. If not, trying to have a discussion beyond players' career figures isn't the worst thing given different pitches, quality of opposition and approaches to batting.
On a vaguely related note, I only just read that Laker died aged 64; very young, and I always thought he was older listening to his commentary on the telly throughout my formative years.
