Rahane's test average is now below 40. Yikes.

As I type Kohli throws it away. Ffs. Root to finish this chase off singlehandedly, game's done

People that claim Moeen isn’t front line. Dude takes more wpm than Flintoff including just in England (at a better average). That’s not to say he’s better than Leach or Parkinson, but he’s an all-rounder that’s a front-line bowler still. No one considers Flintoff bits and pieces as far as I know or part time.

Could do with a bit more contribution in this game from Ali however

Unacceptable batting today in ideal conditions throwing away a good advantage still have us as slight favourites but not by as much as an hour ago

Butcher gone down in my estimation trying to weaken Laker’s stats by excuses. What an idiot. Ali is no where near as good as Laker was. Just look at the average and wickets per game. Don’t be an idiot Butcher.

Mark Butcher “But but but but strike rate , era”…. Lmao…

Moeen is a decent bowler, but he’s an all rounder and Laker is England’s best ever spinner…

Did he actually say that Moeen is better than Laker? Genuine question as I'm not watching the match on Sky. If not, trying to have a discussion beyond players' career figures isn't the worst thing given different pitches, quality of opposition and approaches to batting.

On a vaguely related note, I only just read that Laker died aged 64; very young, and I always thought he was older listening to his commentary on the telly throughout my formative years.

Anyway, not a bad effort by England this morning, but and hour of Thakur and/or Pant will out India out of sight.
