Must be a coaching thing, who's our spin coach?
We don't have one officially but Wiseman is one of the high performance coach and helps these guys. There Jurgenson but he's mostly for faster bowlers.

Better plan and discipline than Australia but outside of Ajaz I don't think we have a better attack

I'm actually super surprised the three spinners have delivered in all three games. They haven't had an off game.

I was following the Aussies and they were reasonable but not at relenting. When did we start producing good spinners?
They’ve definitely jumped at the chance of getting to bowl in favourable conditions for a change. Spin stocks haven’t been great obviously but there’s always been something to work with in the last 5-6 years. Combination of NZ being a spinner’s graveyard and KW not using non-ND spinners unless he absolutely has to has made it look bleaker than it is.

Moral of the story, never treat any international team like **** doesn't matter how much collective experience they have in comparison. Aussies found that against India, pakistan recently against England and now this. The guys that make the international sides generally are good, they would have done their mile. They don't get given favors

nice win from the boys

reckon ajaz is a smokey for a 'concussion' sub late inclusion for the t20 wc.

cdg doing his best to bat himself out of the indian tour despite playing a different format.

i like watching all three of our spinners bowl. nz domestic cricket is definitely harsh on them.

We'll probably get smashed the next two games but lest it isn't a white wash. A memorable win considering this is only the second win in Bangladesh.

Tbf it’s only the 5th t20 we’ve played in Bangladesh, so 2 out of 5 ain’t bad.

This win and the previous game’s performance probably makes it a ‘Meets Expectation’ for the series. Would be nice if the next 2 games are competitive.

I think the team is showing steady improvement tbh. I'm hoping they can stay at this level now at least. Doesn't guarantee the win, but they are doing well and learning from their new experiences.

i got my concerns about new zealand 20 20 cricket when you have mega stars like munro and siefert playing franchise cricket during a international tour

Worth remembering that Ajaz Patel was a bog average club seamer around a decade ago. Pretty amazing to see how far his star is rising

Ajaz has now been involved in quite a few famous victories. Although this is just a jam t20I, considering how far off we were after the first game this is another game he could feel proud having involved and being the senior pro already with only like 5 t20s under the belt. I thought his first stint in the t20s in UAE was quite good. Ideally should be playing all formats consistently but given our decks we are going to miss out on a good spinner such as him playing regularly. He hasn't put a foot wrong whenever he's been given an opportunity.

Lol seeing some whingeing Bangladesh fan on plebbit claiming that the pitches will inevitably be crap due to the weather. There is grass on the outfield. If you can grow grass on the outfield, you can also grow grass on the pitch.

Good to see Bangladesh get a little taste of their own medicine here.

Good to avoid the banglawash.

Better balance with Allen available.
The seamers actually had to bowl proper spells, rather than 1 match, 1 over sort of contributions.
Plus the deeper batting was required with Blundell at 7 making vital contribution.

Yes, yes. The extra batter gives the team more balance on bowler-friendly pitches. CdG and Finn Allen (under-rated off-spin) can bowl an over or two if a main bowler has an off day. And McConchie and Kuggs / Braces at #8 and #9 gives late innings nurdling (rebuilding) or hitting (finishing) options.

Not convinced on Latham and Nicholls batting at #5 and #6. I assume Latham dropped slots yesterday to retain LHB - RHB split, but I think this is too funky. Latham and Nicholls are the most likely to make 50+ against spin so one of them should be at #3.
