Not really. In fact, not at all.

He basically said one can't compare across eras and Laker sent down over after over of maidens, whereas Mo is usually called on to bowl short spells and takes his wickets in clumps.

Which, I suppose is a positive spin (ha) on "goes wicketless for long spells and bleeds runs when the force isn't with him".

You look at the scoreboard and it looks fairly even. But then you remember that both sides are much stronger in the field than with the bat and India are in very good shape.

Lot of time for Jinks, but think he needs a spell away. If he's retained for OT it's only misguided (albeit still commendable) loyalty from the selectors.

I'm struggling to remember many big 4th innings chases here. It would certainly be a mistake to think that Gavaskar's 1979 effort was the norm, and that's before someone points out that India didn't actually win that game anyway.

They showed a graphic earlier and although there weren’t many high chases, there were quite a lot of high 4th innings scores in draws and unsuccessful chases. There’s nothing in the pitch that makes chasing 350 impossible, it’s all about whether they can bat well and handle the pressure.

India got 350 odd in an unsuccessful chase here last time round
