Official NZ in Bangladesh (5 T20s)

Yep much better game that, no complaints about the pitch ... and well played Bangladesh, would have been an injustice if NZ stole it from that no ball.

Should have played Bracewell ahead of Cole. Definitely need to bat Rachin at 5 or 6 he's a better six hitter than Nicholls, Cole. CDG can but he doesn't.

Like someone said above batting definitely improved but 73 runs off 8 overs of pace cost us.

Why? It was a garbage delivery in a close match. Team’s deservedly lose from cases like that all the time.

Anyway, fun little game. NZ just a little rough round the edges with a couple of dropped catches and Rachin’s facepalm worthy dismissal. Such a pity the side doesn’t have a 4th spinner in the squad, probably would’ve won if they did.

Well played by NZ. Sears could have bowled one over or two at the back end. Latham coming up the order was good move. Nicholls need to come up a bit also maybe at four.

Top knock Latham, almost pulled off a difficult chase. A class above his teammates atm and could really use some support. Glad we had a competitive game.

BD should be pretty happy not being at their best but still remaining in control. But for that error from Mustsfizur in the last over, fair to say the performance of the pacemen was the difference between the 2 sides.

NZ side for next game - bowling attack of Ajaz, Rachin, McConchie, Blundell (because he bowled spin in that test in Melbourne) and CDG. The rest of the side is just batting and since we don't have enough, Bracewell can play as a batsman and Sears as team mascot for nzfan.

Would be nice to see an absolute belter of a pitch next one. Maybe 200 run pitch for a change. Mix bag is good.

Why not. They already seem to have squeezed about a month's worth of pitch transformation into 36 hours, so anything's possible.

I said in another thread, I'd have Latham in or close to my World T20 squad in the subcontinent and that's why. Apart from Kane, he's our best player of spin and a hugely vital asset if chasing a small-ish total on a slow deck

Whatever it takes!!!
I think he is keeping and batting 5 precisely because of that reason? He expects to play those roles in the WT20. If any IPL side were smart, they would pick him up too with all the replacements being signed right now.

He's not in the squad, if you're referring to my post.

Seriously? I have seen him bat 5 in ODIs and so just assumed he was there. My bad. Not a great selection from NZ then.
To be fair, his T20 record is hopeless. I just think he could be a good squad member, if the pitches are looking particularly slow and low-scoring affairs are the norm. If that's not the case, he's an absolute waste of a spot. So I've actually talked myself out of it, because it's hard to warrant picking a guy like him who needs the exact right conditions to be effective. He's perfect for this series, but looking at the NZ T20 squad there's no one you'd replace to bring Latham in.

You could pick him instead of Seifert or Chapman.

Would like to see more of sears, one over is a bit of waste. Bowled 0ne delivery at 140 the rest at bout 125. Anyone know what is generally normal for him? As most of the seamers seemed to be holding pace back.
