Yeah they pretty much didn't take racism seriously back then.

The Robinson response didn't seem appropriate to me. But it's understandable that they wanted to appear Extra Tough On Racism given how pathetic their response was to genuine personal racist abuse as recently as 2015.

He was reported at the time as the umpire and opposition player at the non-striker end both heard the comment. iirc he received a two-match ban; woefully inadequate, but the fact that happened means he was never going to be suspended again now.

In happier news, he deserved that wicket, didn't he? He's bowled well in the bits that I've followed.

yeah, it was a great take in the end, but got himself in an awful position, his weight back on his heels and unable to move effectively to intercept the ball.
