Jimmy coming out after all.

He should spend 10 minutes adjusting his thigh pad then Root should declare.
I suppose if he didn't come out, it sends a clear message to India that he's scared of getting hurt, and there will be other times in this series when we need him to stick around.

Anyway, Robinson did the decent thing and spared Jimmy's blushes. As a minor detail, Ollie's batting hasn't been quite what we thought since his debut innings of 42.

England's changes are meh. We all want Hameed to do well but Sibley could have easily made a chancy 60 while being shut down on the second morning.
Maybe, but I'm not sure that Sibley would have punished the poor bowling on Day 1. And I'm more forgiving of someone in his second test since recall getting bogged down at this level, than Sibley still not hitting the ball off the square after 20+ tests.

I'm really conflicted on sibley, and pope to a lesser extent. Both clearly have the capability to play insanely good innings under pressure (Sibley's 130-odd vs SA comes to mind, completely flipped the monentum of that series.) yet neither have really found any consistency.

I also think Crawley will come good. More so than Sibley. They all just need more county cricket!
