Not saying this type of analysis isn’t accurate but I always wonder how well do individual stills of player’s bowling/batting actions represent their overall action throughout the game. There’s hundreds of deliveries in a game. I guess fundamental aspects like this are instinct at some point and don’t change ball to ball.
It was consistent enough in the highlights of each. If anything in the current match his arm is even lower when he goes around the wicket.

Its the other side of test cricket sadly.

Unless you are English, a test fanatic, dislike India immensely or have bet on this then what's the point of watching ?

Shame as we have had some really good tests recently, but this was over before tea on the first day.
Write this team off at your own peril. Another poster (Couldn't remember who) wrote something on similar lines after 36/9 and still being referred to on it.

Expecting a strong comeback from the Indian team today.

eng's changes have made them look a lot more respectable without being dominant

if india make changes to the next match and it pays off, we will look dominant given our bowling attack

this series is going to end 2-1 india or 2-2

Yesterday was fairly solid from both teams in isolation. The real surprise was Shane Warne in commentary not calling for a declaration half an hour before the close. :tooth:

Yeah really not convinced by Hameed...I guess turning over the strike is better than Sibley but suspect Hameed will be a walking wicket

England's changes are meh. We all want Hameed to do well but Sibley could have easily made a chancy 60 while being shut down on the second morning. Broad is better than Overton at least, the drop in intensity when Anderson went off was pretty clear.
Yeah absolutely. India's bowling was absolutely putrid on Day 1 and Hameed cashed in. When they bowled better lines on the second morning he basically did a Sibley - hopelessly bogged down for an hour and then missed a straight one.

I'll be impressed if India can somehow avoid the innings defeat here.

Does an innings win result in the same number of WTC points as a normal win?

What’s the most consecutive innings where the same batsman has been top scorer? Joe Root is up to 5 assuming there’s no heroics from the tail. Probably not a record, but feels like it ought to be unusual.

India just have to forget the score and bat as though it’s a new match. You never know what can happen and some good performances and keep us mentally in the series

England will bat too long today and leave the game with 7-8 sessions to go.

Pujara will make 18 (464) before it starts pouring, leading to a draw.

The Indian posters here calling for his head then get the best of both worlds as Pujura is dropped for the next Test for lack of intent.

When England lose the 9th wicket I just don’t see how they can send out Anderson! Our tactics if we get them right and he bats could yet define the series.

Its just strange how this series is beginning to change on its head. India batted poorly. Although we were superb and we have looked rock solid with the bat and India are not doing much with the ball

We'll soon find out. I'm expecting Jimmy be dressed like the Michelin Man for the rest of the series. When batting, that is.
