Whatever it takes!!!
Shami has to break the game open here for India. Others can go well and are also more likely to run through a side, but Shami is usually the more likely to produce an unplayable ball out of nowhere to defeat set batsmen.

Also, Hameed struggled with the bouncer and it seemed to destroy his confidence back in India. Not sure why India are not bouncing him yet.

what's best case scenario here for India?

10 wickets for 100, keep the lead to 150-ish, scored 300-ish 2nd dig, hope to roll England over for >150 in the 4th?

yeah, Ishant's form is a definite concern. Unlike others, I thought he was fine in Lords. It was obvious he was trying too hard in the first spell but the fact that he has not been able to return to his regular rhythm since is definitely worrying.

Always find this a curious suggestion. Every player relies on their eye
Well, yes. But in general I think players with more "classical" techniques tend to avoid declines as they go deeper into their thirties; I think as time goes on Kohli is more likely to nick ones that he once put away.

But I admit I'm not an expert on techniques, so might be talking out of my arse.

Shami has taken his customary wicket. Now juz gotta hope Siraj and Bumrah can run through them. Hopefully Ishant turns up at some stage.

Let's be fair - Hameed got the softest first few overs of the entire series and still looked like getting out every time they fluked one in the corridor. Ishant looked so hesitant with his run up and action.

Every time he drives I think he's going to chop on, but fair play he's scoring runs. I think Sibley is the better player though, if you define better as the opener most likely to occupy the crease.
I like Sibley but Hameed is streets ahead of him really. Sure it's an opener's job to blunt the new ball, but you have to have SOME scoring shots - and Sibley possess virtually none. This makes him quite an easy guy to bowl too
