Uh, this seems a fair bit worse than what Robinson did. Old ****ty tweets is one thing, an honest to god "go back where you came from" on a cricket field? Yikes.
It's much worse. I don't actually give two ****s about what Robinson did, it just had all the hallmarks of a very immature young person posting **** for reacts without quite realising what he was doing. I actually found some of the indignant and very showy commentary on it from people who were already grown men at the advent of social media (or simply wanted to be seen to be suitably indignant) more annoying than the actual posts.

This **** from Overton is next level and a pretty unpleasant echo of plenty of stuff that's happened to me and many others over the years. I hope Hameed hits him for many sixes in the nets and gives him a withering stare after each one.

157/0 after 98ao apparently. These two will do well to get there before close.
On the other hand, I feel that Cook and Strauss are sliiiightly more credentialed openers than Hameed and Burns (the bowling ought to be better here than it was that day too, though on paper that Aus attack is pretty similar to the same attack that would annihilate that same batting lineup three years later. Would've been fine if Smith had batted six )

Whatever it takes!!!
I like how pessimistic England fans seem to be to not come out and shitpost here when they are so far ahead in the game.

Even fj is really not committing to the front foot there. :p

Yeah but Australia were at home. All out for double digits on day one of a home test just wasn’t a thing that happened to Australia.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, I find "go back to where you came from" makes me mad in a way very few things do.

Rory Burns is doing a pretty vivid impersonation of a test batsman here. Like when Alec Baldwin does De Niro. It's not quite the real thing, but it's pretty bloody convincing when he nails it!
