Rahane got about 12 of his 15 runs as gifts and yet he gives it away.

Don't expect too many big changes though. So far, I am more disappointed that we gave away 4 wickets there. First 2 could be from the high of the last game but both Virat and Rahane looked like they realized the enormity of the task ahead and still gave it away. The poke to the keeper is just the most annoying dismissal right now ( I know I would probably say the same if they kept driving and nicking off but still..). Pujara and Rahane and now, Virat, seem to have mastered it for whatever reason.

Pant and Rohit for a session or two will be excellent viewing though, so there is that.


Still think Virat will get a good score here or in the next test. Same with Rahane. Pujara just looks shot though. Mayank will come in, I guess. Hopefully he is less the IPL Mayank and more the guy who withstood Haze and Cummins in trying conditions Mayank.

Also, not picking Ash here is a mistake and hopefully it is rectified at least next test.

So Rahane...makes a contribution in a winning cause every ten games and hangs on to his spot. I'd happily take a loss every time he makes a score if it means we see the last of him. Nice guy and all but total headless chicken while batting.
