What a worse display of batting from England!
Even 90's team had a better batting line up.

Haha I thought of that too. That game had also had an anderson feud with an Indian player. And it ended with him getting dismissed by him at the end. Jadeja on that occasion, bumrah/siraj this time.In 2014, we were 1-0 down after 2 matches following a gutless second innings effort at Lords, then went on to dominate the series and win 3-1. Fair to say India have fallen straight into our trap
Don't think anything will ever top the sheer comedy of Ishant (before he really got good) bouncing out the English team on basically a lawn of a wicket though.Haha I thought of that too. wasn't that also the series where Shami scored his first 50? :OHaha I thought of that too. That game had also had an anderson feud with an Indian player. And it ended with him getting dismissed by him at the end. Jadeja on that occasion, bumrah/siraj this tim
I mean, Anderson got 81 in the same game. It might not have been the flattest pitch ever but it wasn't far off.wasn't that also the series where Shami scored his first 50? :O

Dead as can be IIRC, yet took 2 massive last wicket stands to get each team beyond a decent/middling totalI mean, Anderson got 81 in the same game. It might not have been the flattest pitch ever but it wasn't far off.
I think that pitch was one of that truly rare crimes against cricket, an incredibly flat, dead pitch which is nevertheless so slow that it's actually really hard to score quickly on unless you're taking extreme risks. So the scores weren't that high but the game moved at a snail's pace.Dead as can be IIRC, yet took 2 massive last wicket stands to get each team beyond a decent/middling total
Yeah, boo Kohli ffsWho the **** is booing Root

He is used to it this year.Matches like this is why I believe test cricket is the greatest sport in the world. What a match! What a win!
Gotta feel for Root though. Must be disheartening to put on such a stellar performance and end up in the losing side.
Won't be surprised if that happens. Our batting was relatively more solid back then, but bowling? No comparison, the present bowling unit is arguably the best ever Indian bowling attack. In 2014, we were 1-0 down after 2 matches following a gutless second innings effort at Lords, then went on to dominate the series and win 3-1. Like us 10 plus years ago. Huge wins, draws we should have lost easily. Adds to the fun.I'm sure India being "my" team together with the fact that Indians are a raucous lot and can pack out most grounds to support their team has something to do with it, but this outfit is scripting some spinetingling wins in recent times.
