Why is the middle tier of the pavilion seemingly empty of spectators?

genuinely hoping Moeen plays himself into the side for the Ashes here.

I dont like the macho nonsense tbh. Call me a ***** but excessive bouncers to tailenders aint cool. Not when the aussies did it to natarjan, not when bumrah did it to anderson and not here.

Spicy viewing though undoubtedly, until someone breaks a hand.
I don't have any objection to it but I think it's usually the wrong strategy. People love the idea of "softening people up" but it's just as likely to make them more determined and focused. Everyone who isn't Pat Cummins needs to realise that they are not Pat Cummins.

Bowling to tail-enders is always a bit of a lottery, but when you bowl it on the stumps you give yourself more tickets.

Weird, I'd been thinking earlier how good captaincy it was to have a third man from the start vs. the tail, saved a bunch of runs and now it's gone?

this is now Bum Bum's 2nd highest ever score in Test cricket, and only the 3rd time he's crossed double digits. 2nd time he's gotten into the 20s.

or bring back Jimmy. all that jawing to bumrah and shami last session, let him do something about this partnership.
