Yehs have some short memories re: Pujara huh.

As if there’s a team that wouldn’t give a bollock to have him in the team away from home.
Most teams would rather have their balls whole the form he's in atm. His contributions are appreciated but no one gets to or ought to enjoy unlimited credit.

He's fallen off a cliff very quickly. In Australia he was batting badly but still made contributions through sheer grit. Home series against England is what sent the alarm bells ringing for me. Those are the kind of conditions he'd usually stand out as a level above but he was probably our worst batsman. Hope he gets runs because I  him but it wouldnt be the worst idea to try someone else out.

That's irrelevant though. Most other teams besides NZ are scraping the bottom of the barrel but we've got genuine options to replace him. He's had a really good series in Australia, but really trash output in home games, in England, in NZ and even in WI in the last 2 or so years.

More importantly he's batting very differently from what he used to when he was successful in the past.

There is no other player in the world who I'd rather see succeed, but he's on very thin ice atm.
Australia was 6 months ago though, not 6 years.

This reminds me of people writing off Dravid 10 years ago.

But Dravid scored a mountain of runs in England. Pujara hasn't because he isn't good enough against the moving ball.

That’s my point. People made out like Dravid was finished way too early, then he showed everyone how to bat.
Well not really - Dravid performed exceptionally in each of his England tours of '96, '02, '07 (less so) and '11. His place was never in doubt. Pujara has never proven himself in England. There's a massive difference.

of the guys in the squad, i think this is the best top 6 india have tbh. i've never seen easwaran but these are your guys imo.

kohli probably in a zone atm where he needs to shelve cover drives for a few tests and become a legside troll, just to get himself oriented again.

He averaged in the 30s in that series. I love Pujara as much as anyone but I don't think anyone can complain if he's dropped. He's been woeful for quite sometime now.
Average doesn't do his efforts justice especially the two innings at Sydney. It was worth it's wright in number of balls.

looked up luke wright and he has 50 odis and 50 t20s despite really struggling. how tf did that happen. i know england had a lean era, but surely you get the idea after 20-30 matches?
