Hope it's a more even contest today between bat and ball.
Stating the obvious, I know, but that so depends on how well England bowl, especially with the still-new ball.

Not the worst move to start with Robinson alongside Anderson, based on what we saw yesterday. And last summer suggests that annoying Broad isn't a bad thing.

deperate review
That's two gone in the first 19 overs. Not content with out-bowling and out-batting England so far, India have been much smarter with their reviews. And yes, England are desperate after yesterday's performance. Dobell nails it on cricinfo, although there's nothing there that we didn't already know. And Jimmy really should be making them play more often.

Why do the comms keep saying the English players are rusty? Haven't they been playing FC games?

**** me dead before that graphic was shown I forgot we even recalled Parthiv Patel as recently as 2016, much less that he actually batted well. That really was close to peak Kohli/Shastri madness.

Enjoying how dour these two have managed to make this session.
I think they've been brilliant, and there's time to push on this afternoon when the ball is older and the bowlers are more tired. Thereafter, it's all down to how much play the weather allows on Days 3 to 5.

And I have nfi why Curran thinks he should be bowling round the wicket. Have a word skipper.

EDIT
Like that, and past the outside edge once again. India have earned whatever luck comes their way, but Curran has been unfortunate.

Not been able to follow the morning session at all.

India batting disappointingly competently it seems.
Not much to see here at all. England fans understandably finding less depressing ways to spend the morning, and maybe the Indian fans are bored with how easy it is against us.

EDIT
So that's how we should have been trying to take wickets all along. Not undeserved for Robinson, even if he got a bit lucky on that occasion.

****ing Rohit, always after getting a start. Needs to improve his ruthlessness in Tests.
