Aaaand breathe. ****ing tense affair.

Formidable, eye-catching, and seemingly endowed with with balls composed entirely of solid titanium, Afif Hossain is like a magnificent statue of Hanuman towering over the landscape.

Oh yes indeed.

Afif's been quality for a while now. I kinda get the 'if it's not broken don't fix it' approach to his role in the XI - bat him extremely low, rely on him to finish the innings well. It's sort of how they often used Mahmadullah. But it's just a club cricket line of thinking. No professional teams should be selecting team this way.

We just need to give a good batsman like him more time at the crease, although it does create a hole lower down the order.

We could really use Tamim and Mushfiq to handle Starc and Hazelwood though. They might be iffy at this T20 stuff, as most Deshi players are, but they've got the quality and experience to handle world class bowling at least. Too many of them had that familiar rabbit-in-headlights response to encountering high quality fast bowling. Would be a lot more confident if we had those two to see off some overs. It's clear neither team are going to be chasing big targets anyway, so run rate is a lesser issue than usual.

So does anyone here still take the Australian T20 team seriously? I mean, the selectors obviously don't.

**** the last three t20s and reschedule a test match instead on this same pitch. we need to settle the 2017 series which ended up 1-1 tie
