Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, in the 2010s, I think 9 is a pretty low number to defend for any bowler against any batsman. Dwayne Bravo is considered one of the best T20 death bowlers ever and he said he used to practice to defend 14 and that was his cut off point, where he felt the probability of success was on his side as the bowler.

I still remember an old Ind-SL game when Prabhakar bowled to save 9 off the last over and I was going around screaming in my house saying Sachin should have bowled as he was the magic last over bowler who could defend single digit runs. I was told 9 is a LOT of runs and people usually dont score that many even in 2 overs in ODIs.

Sachin? Wasn't he part time filth
I thought he was quite good in Tests at his best with his leggies. He'd pitch them right on the rough on the last day of a Test match and the uneven turn would do batsmen in. At one point I thought he was probably India's best bowler (not that he had much competition).

Was watching a classic test mini on Kayo recently and Sachin was bowling medium pacers and took a few wickets. Actually looked good, bit of a Steve Waugh vibe with the ball.

I don't know who is going to win this contest, but one thing for sure. Dhoni is going to deny singles off the first 4 balls.
That might work against other bowlers, but against Malinga and Starc, if the ball has the name on it, not even Dhoni can do much. See it, and hit it as soon as possible should work against them. Wasting four singles probably won't work.

Depends. At which point of their careers? What is the pitch like? What is the ground like? What score is Dhoni currently on (and off how many balls)? Is Dhoni going to take singles (who is the Non Striker)?

Sachin is a legend, but he averaged 54 with the ball in Tests. I don't think much more needs to be said.
