He was immense for Leeds when we got promoted under Bielsa. Though I agree 50 million id a little bit pricey. hence we ducked out if keeping him.
I think he’s pretty good in a subtle kind of way, but 50m does seem like a lot.

EU players (except Irish players) will be subject to work permits now.
Makes sense. So things like the Bosman ruling could no longer apply I guess. So yeah the valuations on English players could just keep going up.

Given the bosman rule is now well established within domestic football rules (and English law itself), Brexit is unlikely to have an impact on it at all. Not unless the UK parliament decides it wants to pass a new law abolishing it or something anyway.

Best of luck to Grealish I guess. Disappointing for Villa to lose him but we're getting a good price and can't begrudge him the move. Hope he does well.

Given the spending done by Villa it was obvious he was going, Villa have signed some good players this summer but moulding them into a decent side could prove difficult unless Smith is given time.

Think he'll be given time, last season was great for them, and he's been giving cash to burn.

In other news, we;ve sold more of the family silver, it's really looking a bit poor for the new season, nice having money in the bank, but would also be nice to have a few decent players. If Key goes to Sunderland, it's a lower mid-table side at best, obviously a lot of the transfer window to go, but still, about 4 decent players short at least.

Interesting Randall seems to have chosen Peterborough over Glasgow celtic, sign of the times I suppose.
