You can’t really compare players in different teams or different position in order as they are batting
With different players . Cricket is about facing the bowler and fielders. I don’t find it relevant what the other batter is doing unless it’s limited overs. Running between the wickets can effect other player though

Uh it absolutely can. Turning the strike is a huge part of the game.

Tbf he does get a lot if credit from observers for that, thanks to those two mammoth partnerships with McCullum and Williamson in the space of a year. Lots of other lesser known examples (such as UAE 2018).

I guess turning himself into a safe keeper from being very much a part-time one, and the improvement in his batting against spin are two things I wish NZ commentators would acknowledge more.
