Ooh, close here. Shaffrey dropping down the order to give my youths some batting is still in with 3 overs to go, 4 wickets remaining, and 17 runs required.

Good game. Well played. Middle overs turned the game on it head with some clean hitting, and then unfortunately Mthombeni dropped he few at the end.

Over all happy with improved performance.

So I know that this is a thread not about FTP, but I have gone underground and made a team there again because I used to love to be on there...

The format I am so used to...

I am still trying to get accustomed to Stumped, and I really enjoy playing games here (both competitive and friendly).

Just wanted to drop this here.

CWC Round 5 Review/Round 6 Preview!

ZCC continue their unassailable dominance over the CWC, while the competition begins to heat up for 2nd place. He's a round-up of last week's CWC games, and a preview of the matches scheduled for tomorrow!

ZCC cruised to a 10 wicket win over Winton CC at WCC CG, taking them to 5 consecutive wins in CWC Season 2, and 16 consecutive wins in the CWC overall! Arif Jalal won the toss and elected to bowl first on a green and pacey wicket, and his seamers razed the WCC batting for just 85. Left-arm seamer Chung Yiu was the pick of the bowlers with 4/18 in his 4 overs. Keeper Heshan de Mehlo took 5 catches and effected a stumping, and then hit 30* in the chase, with Sajith D Estandau scoring 55* has they hunted the target down in just 11 overs.

Dynamo Schmaltzberg pulled off an upset on home turf, beating FHK by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare. The young visitors never got going with the bat, managing just 126/7 on a decent batting surface. The Schmaltzberg bowling effort was excellent overall, wtih Simon Lickley and Shanuka Kurusumuttu taking 2 wickets each. The young Dynamo affiliate lost a couple of early wickets in the chase before Kurusumuttu hit a fantastic 72* off just 57 balls to take his side to a massive victory, handing FHK their first loss of the season.

Dynamo Morpork put themselves in good position to capitalize on their sister side's victory by thrashing the Honest Hunks by 8 wickets away from home. Saleem Saleem, Ryan Moon and Nat Judge took 7/65 between them to keep the Hunks to just 120/9 on a worn wicket, after which Anthony McGrath (47), Shingirai Msomi (34*) and Daniel Rowan (also 34*) chased the runs down inside 15 overs.

And finally the Inner Western Wombats picked up their 2nd win of the CWC, beating Picasso Moon by 21 runs! They were bowled out for 122 batting first on home turf, but managed to bowl the PMs for just 101 in the response, securing a dramatic win in a low scoring thriller!

ZCC continue to dominate the league, but competition for 2nd place is tightening up between FHK and Dynamo Morpork. Winton CC are still an outside chance of making the finals but need to turn things around soon, while Schmatlzberg and the Wombats begin to separate themselves from the bottom of the table.

Tomorrow we will have 4 very exciting games taking place. Dynamo Morpork play host to ZCC at the Treacle Mine Road, FHK host Winton CC at the 5DNOL stadium, Dynamo Schmaltzberg pay a visit to the Inner Western Wombats and Picasso Moon play host to the Honest Hunks.

Can the Dynamo's hand ZCC their first ever CWC loss? Will Winton CC scalp a massive win to move them back into contention for the Grand Final? Can Schmaltzberg firmly establish themsleves as the 'best of the rest', and will Picasso Moon finally get that elusive first CWC win? We shall soon find out!

Another good batting day today. Think I`m starting to understand the system better... at least for now.

My ex-wicketkeeper got me a cool 160 000, am currently spending some of that money on a new opening batsmen.

Well, it's a quarter of the way through five concurrent CW T20s:

IWW are struggling at 68-4, with Schmaltzberg skipper Ancell taking 3 wickets.

Honest Hunks are five down against Picasso Moon, with Dan Ralph holding figures of 4-5.

DynMorpork's batting lineup has been dented by the ZCC bowlers, they are 59-4.

FHK are the only batting side finding a rhythm, at 74-2 after 10 overs against WCC.

And Moooo are going well vs an U21 side of mine, at 83-2.

Moooo won vs me pretty comfortably in the end. Tauseef Nazar (28 off 19) started their innings off well, before Jeff Camp (58 off 50), and Richard Tipping (60 off 37) both recorded their highest scores in friendly T20s. @SillyCowCorner1's team were well placed before the final over at 165-4 with Tipping still in, but Steve Ludlow managed a wicket maiden to leave MOO 165-5 and his figures 3-28.

The chase never really got going as Shawn Dee (21 off 16) and Courtney Brockman (25 off 17) recorded starts but couldn't get going. Mitchell Armstrong fought valiantly with 42* (31) but the tail failed to support him, the required run rate kept rising, and eventually AXI collapsed to 114 all out. No bowler proved a weak link in the attack, and so Moooo got a easy win by 51 runs thanks to a strong all-round performance by both their batters and their bowlers.

In a T20 vs @StephenZA's Orangutans they sadly collapsed to 86 all out thanks to good bowling from Afzal Mohiuddin (2-13 + 1ro), Liam Kotze (3-18), and Ant Mitchell (4-21), who took a hat-trick to end the innings. Batting highlight Jacques Katz' 35* (34). TMO fielded a good bowling lineup, but nevertheless it was cruise to the win inside 10 overs led by Bobby Shaffrey's 51* (34). SZA is unlucky to get thrashed like that by a weak bowling lineup of mine, hopefully they fare better in future fixtures.

Had a friendly DEV match vs Dynamo Schmaltzberg for my Monday morning. Despite out-rating them, Schmaltzberg comfortably outperformed my team. Shawn Dee scored 66 (93) but didn't have much support, with Courtney Brockman hitting 30 (29) before being run out. Simon Lickley, captaining DySch, got 4-20. Shanuka Kurusumuttu got a wicket and a run out, before scoring 41 (82) to provide the platform of the chase. Mark Holding got 64* (84). Vaguely disappointed that I still haven't managed a win against a @Magrat Garlick team, but I'm sure it will come soon.

Winton CC gave me a real drubbing over the weekend in a friendly development game. Have managed to pick up a young opening bat that can immediately do a job for the team, no real long term potential but can get me going for now. Importantly has a good stamina and fielding potential which was why I really wanted him. Managed to win the development game against the bot today hurray. Wk is a real issue, along with fielding in general. Dropped 6 catches in the first 10 overs 4 from wk. 11th over he missed a stumping. And then dropped a further 2 catches during the match. Deep breath and carry on. Problem is I also need to develop his batting. One problem at a time I suppose.

Query on stamina, do friendly games effect stamina and does low stamina effect performance in friendlies?

Friendly games have no effect on fitness, and fitness levels have no effect in friendlies (I think they're coded so all players perform as if on 100% condition).
