Stumped!

Younger players are more likely to reach their potential with the right coaching/opportunities, so are worth more.
All with measure tbf. If a player is at say 2/2/2 skills you will have problems dragging them up even beyond that you're playing a dude with 6 actual skill.

(And yet the market loves them)

My T20 match today was very weird

sent in the kids + Saleem because I had two games against strong opponents in the other formats, even if it was a top of the table clash

my spinners got absolutely tonked, then somehow we had them 121/9, then their iceman No. 11 bashed Saleem about with impunity (28 not out)

then I crashed to 44/6

and somehow 4-touch Rowan kept batting with the tail to win the game with a 69 not out, two-wicket win in the last over.

Nice

Got a friendly vs Dynamo Schmaltzberg, 1 month and 1 hour since the previous one. I'm ahead in the ratings by 3K, and so far things are going well for me with a 100-run opening partnership trotting along at 6 an over in the OD game.

Schmaltzberg are trotting towards my target, but the it's still fairly competive at 5.5RRR with 10 overs to go and 6 wickets remaining, so who knows. Goliath and Hyde have had an odd off day. In my batting Frost (he's got 5 50s now with a high score of 59...), Saadi, and Clift all hit 50s; in the DynSc innings keeper Buckland (three openers scored 55 in the match, lol) and captain Manning (60, just out now) have been the stars.

I forgot to set my orders for the The Clay match, but it should be fine. That match is just getting underway.

And my weekly coaching has come. 17 skill increases, one skill decrease (Brockman from Agg+ to Agg, interesting that that's called a decrease but it probably is detrimental to me nevertheless...). Most notably, Austin Hyde - on training to preserve his levels but I'll put him off training now - somehow bumped in movement. Good stuff. They're a bunch of good bumps looking at them, getting players in the direction I want them to go.

Great match ataraxia. I didn't mean for Manning to bowl, he's a wicketkeeper with 0 skill, but he did alright lmao

Also excellent from Hardy to block out a bit while Goonewardene killed your death bowling

Apparently won my first friendly T20 game by 1 wicket. Did not even get a chance to pick the team!

One player single handedly won me the game scoring 78 chasing 117...

Never write off a win against the Golden Duckers. Many great sides (and not so great sides like my own) have lost to them early doors

Forgot to mention - I played Marcuss's team yesterday - a close game in the Expert Prreview but certainly not a close one on the field of play! :fear:

Stumped CWC Season 2 - Rounds 3 and 4 review!

As I always say - better late than never. Here is a round-up of the last two rounds of the Stumped CWC!

ZCC continue their unbeaten streak in the CWC, picking up wins over the Honest Hunks and Dynamo Schmatlzberg. They won both games comfortably too, securing a bonus point in the process.

FHK sit in 2nd place with 4 wins in 4 games as well, having beaten Dynamo Morpork in Round 3 by just 16 runs on home turf. Tin Yau's 76 was followed by an exceptional spell by Lai O Yin, who took 6/19 in 3.1 overs to dismantle Dynamo's chase. They followed up that success with a comfortable win over Picasso Moon in Round 4.

Dynamo Morpork have lost just the one game so far, and so sit in 3rd place. They bounced back from their loss to FHK with a comprehensive win over the Inner Western Wombats.

Winton CC have returned to winning ways these past two weeks, beating Picasso Moon and Dynamo Schmaltzberg. The win over Schmaltzberg was particularly noteworthy, as their quick bowlers made full use of their home track to bowl out the visitors for just 71. This was after their batters scored 157 in the first innings, giving them a massive, morale-boosting win, and taking them into 4th place.

With back-to-back losses Dynamo Schmatlzberg find themselves hanging onto 5th place by virtue of NRR, just slightly ahead of the Honest Hunks in 6th. Inner Western Wombats picked up their first CWC win in Round 3 over the Hunks, which keeps them in 7th ahead of Picasso Moon, who have yet to score a single point.

This Saturday sees 4 potentially very exciting match-ups as we enter Week 5 of the CWC!

ZCC will play host to @JOJOXI's Winton CC, which could be interesting as they have had difficulties on their home track this season. The club has struggled with balancing the demands of the senior team - who prefer tracks with good pace and moisture - and the development side - who prefer some assistance for their crop of young developing spinners. As a result the pitches have often not suited ZCC's side during league games, resulting in less than satisfactory performances across all format. The pitch has also taken quite a bit of wear, thanks to a heavy schedule of league cricket, making it even harder for their inexperienced batting lineup and opening up the possibility for an upset. However, WCC are in the midst of a rebuilding phase, so may not be able to put out a XI strong enough to take advantage of this opportunity.

@Magrat Garlick's Dynamo Schmaltzberg will play host to FHK, and will hope to secure an upset on home-turf. They'll be inspired by ataraXIa's upset win a few days ago, a result that FHK will be determined to prove was a one-off fluke. Expect a close match-up between the up-and-coming home club and the talented-but-inexperienced visitors.

@morgieb's Inner Western Wombats have an opportunity to jump up to 5th in the points table if they can beat @jimmy101's Picasso Moon at home this Saturday, with the visitors still searching for that elusive first CWC win. Securing the bonus point will be a positive outcome for the struggling side, while the Wombats should look to build on their victory over the Hunks and show they belong in this competition.

And last but not least, Dynamo Morpork will continue to mount a challenge for 2nd place when they pay a visit to @honestbharani's Honest Hunks. Not only that, but it's a chance for revenge. Morpork lost a game to the Hunks in CWC Season 1, and the record between the two sides currently sits at 1-all in CWC matches. The Hunks have shown they're capable of an upset with their win over WCC earlier this season, so Morpork will be cautioned against taking them easy.

Can't wait till Saturday!

I may have picked the same team that played against ZCC a few days ago here.

It’s a team short of experience. There is a 15 year old and a few under-20s.

@ataraxia should easily get to 400

Yeah, it was a bit tough of me to play a full-strength side against you. Shaffrey's 113 off 80 is the highest score in all matches for my team, and 367 is my highest team score. Definitely some positives from your players though, Lee Homer is playing a very nice knock.
