How to revive Kenya & Zimbabwe Cricket?

Namibia must be closing in on becoming the 2nd best team in Africa. Still would give Zimbabwe the edge when at or near full strengh, but the gap is narrowing

As for Kenya, that horse has sadly long since bolted

How about setting up some proper cricket coaching academies for youth at 1. Nairobi, 2. Mombasa, 3. Nakuru and 4. Eldoret. Focus on under 23 cricket by hiring some good contracted coaches from around the world. Investing in domestic competitions giving proper contracts to all the domestic players. Having cricket matches scheduled every month of the year.

Yea to do all this you need money, and right now it seems that all the money given to these two cricket boards gets lost in the pockets of corrupt administrators.

ICC should take over control then with the help of BCCI and ECB. ICC is there for what? They should at least do something for saving cricket in these nations. At least learn something from FIFA.

zimbabwe is fine. The reason they look bad then before is because of all the white people that ruled them and didnt allow blacks to play thourgh means of discrimination. and now since they left and blacks dominate, they will slowly learn. Wes and Bless are insane improvements to the black cricketers they have produced and it will only get better, ofc slowly.

As for Kenya, its finished. Their icc headquarters is a literal tiny office space and the sport is dead. Even former captain Aasif has admitted to it as well.

On a brighter note Namibia is getting better, and frankly the country i had been supporting during their qualifiers. They are close to SA. And you know how much talent is exported from SA. Eventually Namibia being next to SA will end up being a goldmine later for Namibia when it gets players from there to improve.

So in conclusion to the original question of this thread. Zimbabwe and Namibia will rise slowly stop worrying, only way Kenya can be saved is if you merge it like "west indies" and form a west/east africa team such as Kenya, Ugandaa, Zambia together. for a better pool + ICC providing adequate financial support.

Anyways ICC does a bad job giving Ireland and Afghanistan test matches so ICC needs to get a grip and sort out the obvious problems before tackling these ones

I think Namibia may struggle to get much better due to the population size. According to Wikipedia, there are only 2.5 million people in Namibia, and while I'm not sure what poverty levels are like, that is still going to make the potential pool of players even smaller. So realistically, I think third best team in Africa is their ceiling.

It will be a good idea to combine and bring back the East Africa team which competed in the initial World Cups. Can cricketweb do something for the cause?

emailing and getting into contact with their boards and letting them know cricketweb can start a fundraiser if they can meet requirements of nurturing cricket

The Minister of Sports put Cricket Kenya under a normalization committee, whose mandate is to shepherd in a new constitution, and then get stakeholders to elect an new board.

My feeling is that agenda number one for the incoming board is to lead a reconciliation process, that would deal with all the bad blood that has accumulated from 5-10 years of infighting, and petty politics.

Once that is dealt with they can have to the goodwill to consolidate all development plan that brings on board the best ideas from various clubs and schools already organizing cricket on their own, while having their support to go evangelize the ret of the country into adopting cricket.
