Need to tell my openers it's a powerplay lol!Well after WCC's powerplay of 12 overs they are... 23 for 1.
Big over from Murdoch there has given us hope although only one wicket from losing all that hope
And the very next ball a wicket. Well played Ataraxia - an interesting game - Kurt Murdoch with the standout knock in your innings. Doubled our score after 26 overs in the next 13.1 overs but wickets from Frost proved decisive as well as tight bowling early on

Good knock from the 16 year old there. Thought ataraxia had it won with 21 needed in 12 and just 1 wicket left, but then suddenly his fielders seemed to forget how to catch the ball!
Weird move to give Kurt just the one over, and that too the penultimate one. What was the thought behind that?

I just bowl him at the death a bit, as he seems to bowl well there. He's only got one less variation skill than my 5th bowler, and he's got Iceman, but moreover he just bowls well there normally despite his inaccuracy.
Anyhow, sent out a few friendly requests.

About to drop 65K ish on a 20 year old 42-pot batter whose just going to be a fill-in for my Dev XI for a season. Shahbaz Furqan about to age out and I don't have any other batting options in the squad to replace him.
At this point I'm considering if I'm better off spending more for a younger, more talented player, but if I get this kid I'll have 2-3 weeks of them both playing and maybe I can nick another win or two in the league and therefore avoid relegation.
Bleh, in a bidding war and the price has gone up to 75K. Don't know if he's worth that, even if I can afford it.

not the greatest fielder but Maurits Grobbelaar is 11/9/10 with 9 field (and 13 XP so he can steady ships)

Stellar 50-over win today against the tough All Blacks. Highlight was allrounder legend Van Heerdens taking 3/40 with the tail despite bowling absolute trash (3.3 bowling quota!), the various seamers combining well to exploit the fairly good conditions, and a very calm and collected chase with Mthabela bashing 84 not out.
Grobbelaar was set to bat at 5 in his last match for Dynamo, but was in the end surplus to requirements. His younger brother Martin will remain at the club as an understudy to Mthabela.
It did help that All Blacks rested some of their olds.
The Schmaltzberg boys are bot bashing before the night's T20 clash with Winton.

CWC Round 4 tomorrow! But not too many exciting match-ups to look forward to. The ZCC juggernaut should continue to roll on vs Honest Hunks, tho they will be fielding an understrength XI. FHK should be on track for a 4th consecutive win as well, playing against Picasso Moon. Dynamo Morpork play Inner Western Wombats in what should be another one-sided affair, which leaves us with Winton CC against Dynamo Schmatlzberg - a potentially interesting matchup.
ZCC play Ataraxia in a 50 over friendly right after the CWC game, and currently have 22 players in the squad. This means we are going to field two completely different XIs for each game! A good chance for the rookies to rub shoulders with the seniors, I'm looking forward to seeing how these games play out.
FHK play Winton CC away in a Dev Friendly after the CWC game - this should be a good challenge for them. Set the best possible XI I can for those conditions, let's see how they go.
Should challenge Moo and the Astronauts to some friendlies in due course as well.

Plenty of games for me lined up and the first of a busy schedule could be going well. On an expectedly green surface we look well set to give the unbeaten table toppers in our division at least an akward chase. Should hopefully get minimum 260 from here - currently 211/5 after 41 overs, Potgeiter falling short of a well deserved century
