Well it's been a schisseshow of a season for the Arse, but at least we have the satisfaction of relegating BFS from the Prem for the first time.

Given our previous with the ungreat man I have to say I mildly enjoyed watching his face increasingly resemble a syphilitic ham hock with each chew on his gum.

No issue with the Baggies at all though, but.

I have no issue with them either, but has there ever been a more "meh" Premiership club? They've never been especially obnoxious, nor have they ever been any good really. Have never had a strong view on them, nor do I recall meeting anyone who has.

Not for about 40 years, I suppose. People of my age will fondly remember the Regis/Cunningham/Robson line-up from the late 1970s, but that's very old news now. And I suppose that Leeds fans from the early 1970s might still hold a grudge for the infamous Astle goal that ultimately deprived them of the championship in 1971. But I don't recall a single thing about them since the early 1980s.

I just associate them with Gary Megson and Bryan Robson ("Mebbies we'll win, mebbies we won't"). Even their kit looks so drab and washed out. Zoltan Gera the only player of theirs I can think of during the Prem years that I would describe as "fun".

Fulham and West brom are just pointless yo-yo clubs, that give me no emotion when they get promoted or relegated, which seems to happen a lot.

Fulham definitely very pap, this is true.

Norwich have a little more about them, I tend to think, but generally yes they are also in the same bracket.

I still have memories of Jeremy Goss and that goal in Bayern, they're kinda uniquely placed in the country too, agree with Brighton though.
Ah, that was when Goss had a run of scoring ridiculous goals from way out. You probably remember the joke on Fantasy Football about any time he was fouled 30 yards out should be a yellow card for denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Now I think about it, weren't yer Canaries third in the inaugural Prem?

Resulting in their now scarcely credible win over Bryan that grecian mentioned.

Think they went out to a pre-Arse Dennis Bergkamp inspired Inter in the next round.

If so, that's a rough couple of draws in the early stages of the UEFA Cup.
Perhaps fair to say that finishing 3rd in the top tier wasn't quite the achievement it is now. Ditto Palace in 1991 actually.

I have a fondness for West Brom in a nostalgic way. In 1984 we played them away in the 5th Round of the FA Cup. Before the match they unveiled Stiles, Hunter and Giles as their new management dream team. The Hawthorns was rocking with optimism. They were terrible and we won 1-0 and the whole thing collapsed very quickly.

You wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of that management team in the five-a-sides.

Puts me in mind of the Carlsberg pub team advert of a few years back:

A little bittersweet now as Messrs Robson, Ball and Charlton, J are no longer with us. :(
