Dean Smith making an utter idjit of himself talking about Uniteds pen, hate MANU, but hard to see how it can't be given, don't even think it's soft, probably, talking about Sterling's non-pen yesterday, with five touches on Raheem, then comparing it to one touch here, does that mean all one-touch fouls shouldn't be a pen? Errant nonsense, not surprising Villa fans are agreeing with it though on twitter.

Oh and I'll admit I don't follow forn football, and I know the likes of DCYE rightly thinks f me as uneducated because of it, and I always thought Cavani was ya know alright, but not that good, going to say I am a tad wrong on that, top-class goalscorer, hopefully will help mold Greenwood to being a great.

Strange day. We lost again and got only one point from the last 7 games but have never been in relegation danger despite our lowest ever third tier finish that hasn't resulted in being relegated (fours times). Jeff Stelling did his best with the League One matches considering all that was at stake was 6th place. He did well to make it appear as though the country was on edge.

The puddle are suddenly looking better placed. Only three points behind Leicester if they win their game in hand. Not sure what Ole is going to do with his brave soldiers having to play today, Tuesday and Thursday and the next two matches being against Leicester and Liverpool.

AC Milan currently scudding Juventus 3-0 which is pleasing.

The joint statement by Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid on the Super League was ****ing laughable, Juventus complaining about the current unsustainable financial situation whilst paying Aaron Ramsey £400k a week is hilarious.

only Roma and Atalanta escaped the ESL debacle with any cred from the Serie A imo

In slight fairness to Juve the top 20 clubs by TV revenue the most stable form of revenue with the pandemic - 18 were English the other 2 were Barcelona and Real Madrid - Juventus saw their 2019/20 revenue fall by 18% compared to 18/19, if you compare 18/19 to 20/21 when the club accounts come out that'll probably be even bigger then the 90million they've already seen their income shrink by given 19/20 included a lot of games last season were in front of full stands. Ramsey on 400k is huge money at any time but a lot worse when a key source of income has been shut down and your TV deal isn't as big as your competition in Spain and England.

But Agnelli really is quite an unpleasant guy it seems from afar - not wanting Atalanta in the Champions League, would love it if next season Atalanta beat Juve on final day to snatch 4th - supposedly because of Roma's past they should be in CL which does make their non invitation by the sound of things to the ESL quite laughable but Atalanta - well done for getting top 4 and having a good season but you don't deserve to be in the primary European competition.... Also, don't buy for a second that this is for the good of "the European Football Family" its for the good of the club coffers of a minimal few clubs involved in the competition.

I think he's great. Works like a dog and scores at an elite rate, you hardly ever get strikers who do both. He's not the most clinical but his movement is so good that it doesn't matter because he just keeps getting chances.

Kind of wasted his career lumbering around at PSG though.

BARNES OUT
He was a monster at Napoli when he also had some pace. He's obviously still really good but the online discourse is so toxic that I find it hard to separate myself from it.

Assuming Boris doesn't see anything in the "data" to change his roadmap this should be the last week without fans. 21,000 at the Cup Final on Saturday, albeit a third will be corporate cardboard cut outs, and then between 4 and 10 thousand at the play offs and final two rounds of Premier League matches.

Edit. Some play off matches might have less than 4,000 if their ground capacity is under 16,000. Lincoln will probably only be allowed 2,500.

It caused a lot of fuss when he said “Gracias negrito!” on Instagram to a black bloke who praised him. Not sure what else.
IIRC the guy he said it to wasn't black, but someone who was nicknamed that for having black hair.

I thought the whole thing was handled with a lot of grace given that it was probably the most bullshit ban ever given.

Hmm, our capacity is 13000 or so these days but I've been told we are expecting 4000?

According to the roadmap it’s a quarter of the capacity or 4,000 whichever is smaller. Maybe if the ground can take more but is limited to fewer on safety grounds 4,000 will still be allowed. Google gives Tranmere capacity at 16,587.
On bigger grounds it’s 10,000, which is good for Sunderland.

Yeah there are a lot of broken seats, areas not used due to new disabled enclosures etc which is why the capacity is reduced. I guess from a Covid perspective it makes sense that they can be included.

I did think it was 50% of capacity. In fairness, being completely selfish I think even if they used 13,000 I would be fine as I think we have 3k season ticket holders this season.

Any outside chance of Boris piloting away fans at the second leg?
