If you were to nominate an Australian tailender to whack 30 off an over from pretty much any remotely decent bowler, Pat 'Nudge to Third Man' Cummins would not have been on my list.

I mean he did the same thing vs bumrah last year to be fair. Not that out of the blue.

I've always thought Cummins and Starc are good with the bat and can add a little more to their batting for the LO games. But I didn't expect Cummins to bat this well, that was crazy.

KKR can't have Narine and Cummins in their top 7 in batters though. I am not talking about batting position here, Narine can be slotted at the top every now and then, but whatever Narine and Cummins score is bonus and it's good to have guys like them. Just like CSK has lord Shardul, Curran, etc. But you need 7 proper batsmen excluding these two to make sure that the batting lineup is strong enough.

They have Russel, Rana and Tripathi who can chip in for the 5th bowler's role. + Narine, Cummins, Krishna and Varun as their four main bowlers.

Relying on Narine or even Cummins for consistent runs is a mistake that KKR has made time and again.

I hate it, it's disrespectful to the viewers when some of these guys sit there without any homework. Barring the big names, they literally don't learn anything about the players, their strengths, weakness, etc.

Hardcore cricket fans even keep a tab on domestic tourneys of other countries and know about promising players of other nations before they make it to the highest level, it's a shame that a lot of fans follow the game more than some of the commentators.

Lara has given him a lot of praise. May be he wants DDP to play a little more freely(compared to last year) coz he has the potential to score big and win games(like today) on his own instead of just supporting the bigger names.

I love how everytime teams led by Virat fail in some aspect, the question is never how average they were but how bad his captaincy was. Kapil Dev made 175 after his team was 17/5 and I have not seen any piece yet questioning Duncan Fletcher's captaincy.
