Stumped!

Come on atarXIa, you guys need to get a wicket here. Things are looking ominous. Doubling the score at the 30-over mark, 350 target to chase.

Goliath is probably gonna collapse on the field from weariness. He's really not match-fit. What was his score on the yo-yo?

Or did he went out for a night of drinks and merriment?

I'm following this match more than I follow the IPL games...Posting here alone I hope that I don't break any rules of the forum...

Mods, please don't ban me.

(I'm slightly inebriated.)

While WCC are piling on runs (at least I've managed to slow down and shut down Davey.exe, that's something), I might as well update my progress.

DEV, Monday: Rusty Frost (51 off 59) and Shawn Dee (68 off 90) make the first two fifties in any format for ataraXIa in a solid opening partnership that took up half the overs and totalled nearly a hundred. After Frost's wicket, there was some consolidation between Dee and new signing Bobby Shaffrey. Shaffrey ended up on 78 off 59 as ataraXIa piled on close to 130 runs in the final 10 overs. Mitchell Armstrong smacked 35 off 15 deliveries as ataraXIa ended up on 294-6 after their 40 overs. The top order of the opponents briefly threatened the target, before they collapsed from 146-4 to 151 all out. Offie Isaac Loring on debut took ataraXIa's best figures thus far of 4-41.

Fr. OD vs Dynamo Schmaltzberg, Tuesday: A rather sad affair. Only captain/wicket-keeper/no. 3 bat Shaffrey (41 off 83) showed respite as we collapsed to 97 all out. Opposing captain Drew Ancell was chief destroyer with figures of 4-14. In the end, Schmaltzberg won with 7 wickets and more than half the overs to spare.

T20, Wednesday: Shaffrey let 3 sets of 4 byes go past him as extras top-scored the opposition with 24. It was an odd T20. Considering that among the opposition scores were 19 off 46 and 10 off 31. And that it was a T20. At one stage Steve Ludlow had figures of 3 overs, 2 maidens, 1 run conceded. Normally he's more economical than he was vs WCC today. We won with 6 wickets and 9 overs remaining.

WCC end up on 310-8. The one edge I have over them is my top-order batting vs their powerplay bowling, so hopefully that works out well. Good to see part-time speedster Murdoch with success at the death.

Yeah, he's a slow starter but that shouldn't make him slow after 50+ balls.

My old opening pair Murdoch and Frost at the wicket currently.
I'm presuming Davey is motm?!

Forgot to change my side so probably a decent innings taking that into account, your 2 part timers take 3 wickets in 3 overs during our batting innings must be wondering along with Davey why everyone else isn't taking a hatful of wickets today.

Schmaltzberg had a pretty brutal loss in the T20. Set them 120 to chase, had them 55/7, somehow just couldn't get the tail out (although they had a batsman/keeper at 11 so were probably rearranging the order for max training)
