And watching Shami **** the bed again tells you why he is never a reliable bowler in LO formats. He is very hit or miss and way too often, it has been miss in clutch situations. Hence why it was the right decision to drop him for the WC semis.

I don't like Shami in LO cricket but someone had earlier pointed out his stats in ICC tournaments and they are bloody good. Still think we have better options though.

I was watching a bit of the KKR game yesterday and was very much disappointed in Matthew Hayden mentioning Shakib’s name wrong...he kept on calling him Shakib Al Hussain, more than one time. It’s piss-poor and someone not correcting him is even more abhorrent.

That’s why I like Ian Bishop, he takes the time to learn players’ names (after all, he’s the one with the phrase “Remember the name”).
It seems like Hayden is here on a paid vacation rather than work.

Like I've before, he needs to open and go full Narine. With the field in, he'll get a few quick runs and then they have batsmen till number 10. Lower order hitting is not easy. With the field spread out and the best bowlers from the opposition trying to restrict you, you have to be in some kind of form to be able to score at a quick pace from ball one.

His inability to play the angles for the single, especially against the spinners is just painful to watch and has been since about 2017.

His conditioning's gone for a toss too. He looks winded after every dash between wickets. Can't be easy maintaining peak levels when you're a retiree 10 months/year; more reason why he shouldn't have been playing this time.

He can still make it into the XI for his captaincy and keeping skills alone. He can play for CSK for one more year and the team owners will beg him to stay coz they know how important a tactically brilliant captain is in this format, but MSD has to find a way to make some use of whatever batting skills he is left with. If not opening the batting, he'll have to bat below Curran and Bravo to ensure that he doesn't slow down the scoring rate in the last 5 overs.

DC take on the mighty MI tonight. Advantage MI for being familiar with pitch and conditions. But if DC choose not to hobble themselves with Smith and go instead with someone like Billings, who is also familiar with the venue, then it will be great. If Axar has recovered then this would be a great time to introduce him as well.

Agreed on this. He can actually bat at 10 below Thakur and still be valuable with his captaincy and keeping. But should either open or should not bat at all.
