Definitely need to look at our attack. Alzarri is way too loose, Roach wasted the new ball. Looks like this series will be drawn but it might cost us down the line.

Both tests ended with a tame draw.
This series was more of a transition for the two teams. New faces arriving in the international scene and they are not Devon Conway.

Gabriel should have never played both tests...he’s just that fragile of a bowler.

I am happy that these two games have resulted in a draw. I mean both the teams need rebuilding and this might be a good start for them(especially for SL after losing to England at home). There were some good bowling and batting performances, pretty sure SL and WI players have only come out more confident after the last two games.

As always tends to be the case in such a short series!
Good series with some excellent cricket played even though the pitches left something to be desired.

I thought Sri Lanka's seamers were so accurate, it was really impressive. Their main problems are dropped catches and an abysmal lower order. Solve those and they will be extremely competitive IMHO.

Windies batted better than I expected. Bonner and Mayers are looking very good indeed and the team is scrapping right up until Shannon walks to the crease. This fight and team spirit is a huge positive. Our main problems are the opening slot and I'm beginning to worry about the seamers, we need to start rotating the young guns in and see what they have to offer.

A drawn series was the right result. Some positive signs for both sides, good performance by Lakmal given the docile pitches, Matthews still to come back and if Tom Moody can get time to change things hopefully it won't be long before we see Sri Lanka become a force to be reckoned with again.

West Indies, the majority of the lineup is starting to settle. Campbell will be lucky if he's kept, Blackwood needs to stop being reckless and I'm not sure how much longer Gabriel should be in the XI. The prospect of FC Competition starting next week looks bleak which is a worry.

The bowling isn’t good enough from Sri Lanka’s perspective. Lakmal bowls well enough, but everyone else are really not good enough in terms of consistency and lack as the ability to run through oppositions. Cornwall did too much damage to our chances in both games and a top bowler would have made the difference. I think we will struggle to win games until we find a superstar.

The less said about the fielding and fitness levels the better.

The batting is actually quite decent in comparison and despite our not so impressive efforts in the first innings of both games, we’ve shown some promise.

A very good series, nice to see two Tests both going well into the fifth day although would have been better to see some deterioration on days four and five, but we can’t have everything.

Suranga Lakmal was really impressive and led the SL attack, an example in exploiting conditions when there’s some swing around and then focusing on metronomic accuracy when little is happening.

Their was much better than recent showings, though can’t help but think this was largely contributed to by the generally benign pitches. Nevertheless, they did demonstrate good discipline and didn’t give wickets away in the same fashion they did against England.

Completely agree with your synopsis of where WI are at right now and the positives they can take from this series. Good to see Brathwaite return to form and they’ll hope that they can find some consistency in the top order from here on. The opener partner for Brathwaite is a concern.
