That should be the last time we see John Campbell as a Windies opening batsman...a little better than Chandrika...a little bit above Leon Johnson...

Think Shai Hope will come into the equation soon...
Is it bad I quite liked Leon Johnson lol. I think the South Africa Tests probably stick in my mind most which may influence things somewhat.

Nice to see a return to form for Brathwaite after promise in Bangladesh. Do think its the time to start swinging though, reaching the stage that even with a collapse SL are left chasing 350 in a day and a few overs tonight.

Nice to see Brathwaite do well. He was my favorite WI test batsman 2 years ago, but then his batting suddenly took a dive.

I'd drop Blackwood and Campbell from this team. Dowrich, Chase, Hope, Hetmeyer, Bravo and Pooran can fight for their spots.

37 off the last four overs, feels like WI could be bowling already with more intent earlier after tea but as it is think they should declare after this current over.

I'm getting pretty fed up of Kemar's recent new ball bowling to left handers. It feels like they hardly have to play at all.

Such a terrible spell from Kemar. Wasted 4 precious overs. I'm really starting to question Gabriel and Roach with the new ball, they are just not using it well.

Sri Lanka really milking this 'injury'. 10 mins of the 30 spent not doing anything ?

I think we need a new approach to injuries. Just stretcher them off straight away. Fielders or batsmen.. If they recover they can come back. Sick of seeing time wasted, eg, when a short leg fielder gets hit. Just go off and get a sub on....

Tbh this has not been the best advert for test cricket in terms of the little things. Honestly every session has featured sight screens not working, random drinks being brought on, funerial over rates (particularly Sri Lanka in both innings), minor injuries holding up play for 5 minutes etc.

I love test cricket but if really doesn't help itself sometimes.

Given the "umpire's calls" that were going against us that is some concession.

Mayers should have been given out, I agree. But then he was later given out to an umpires call hitting the outside of the top of the bails, so it kind of evened out in the end.

I don't think umpiring has set SL back in this game so far tbh. I thought it would be much worse than it has been. I'd say that fielding and terrible lower order batting are the main problems. Because I've been seriously impressed with Sri Lanka's bowling discipline and Nissanka is definitely going to be a test class batsman.

Separately, question for you @Migara . Why do your guys have such ridiculous injury issues? It has happened too many times to be bad luck. Any clue what is going on?

Mayers is the only one that came SL way. Thrice in WI 1st innings and Oshada Fernando on SL1st innings were umpires calles went against us. 5 - 1 is nothing close to evening out. Considered the players involved the decisions, it was vital. I am not complaining about the absolute howler DDS got, he should have reviewed it.

I just can't see it tbh. At least three of those were clipping the outside of the stump and benefit of the doubt is fair enough. Oshada also benefited from a number of close lbws as well, though I concede his eventual dismissal was doubtful. In this instance if you're looking at umpiring as a reason IMHO it is just deflecting from issues. Let's be real, this is one of the worst SL fielding sides I've seen for a while. Also our last 4 have put on over 100 every time where's Sri Lanka get bundled out as soon as the number 8 arrives. Those are the real issues here.

We have to strike early in the first session to get something going for us...otherwise it will be a long grind day....batting till the cows come home for Sri Lanka.

I am hoping for another Nissanka century....just one more please.

Not been following this game has there been a lot of bad weather effecting this game to go to a day 5
There were stoppages of play due to rain for most of day 3. They tried to make that up by starting at 9:30 am local time yesterday....today they were gonna start at the same 9:30 am again, but rain showers came and at least another hour of play lost.

Without the rain, I feel that this would have gone into the last day due to both teams being somewhat evenly matched.
