Squad Rotation Sucks! Here are my top 5 reasons why England should not be using Squad Rotation

In at Number 5: Instead of one full time team we have 2 or more part teams. When you're playing the likes of India or Australia, why use a bunch of part timers? It is showing very vividly in the current series.

And at Number 4: It means you're not always playing your best team. Sure, players get injured and occasionally need to rest but you should always be playing the best team which is fit at the moment. The new guys will get their chances but why use a football strategy. Which brings me to...

Number 3 : Squad rotation is great for Manchester United (which is where I live) but pointless for cricket. It's like trying to saddle a cow! Football is much more physical..cricketers spend most of the time standing around doing nothing, either fielding, waiting to bowl or waiting to bat. They don't have the constant physical stress that footballers do.

Riding high at Number 2: It reduces your strategy options. If you've proactively taken players out of the equation, you have fewer options on the pitch. Madness.

And at Number 1: Proactivity isn't the quick, it should be lightning quick reactivity. If we spend our time second guessing the situations we're going to be in, we may as well employ a psychic to predict the toss. I think this altogether a poor policy from someone who is trying to reinvent the wheel.

More utter nonsense.

Morgan is out of the series due to injury.
and billings out of tomorrows game too.

Couple of other random bits. Parkinson apparently the one player todo the whole post christmas winter with England. Yet to play a game the poor bloke.

Woakes didn't play at all this winter either having travelled to South Africa before christmas, Sri Lanka and India post christmas.

fun times.

Livingstone coming into the middle order I'd guess. Can't see him having the skill for that tbh.

Malan likely to come in from the reserves group and presumably bat 3.

Whatever it takes!!!
Might work out well for England to play this line up -

Roy
Bairstow
Malan
Buttler (c) (wk)
Stokes
Livingstone
Moeen
Sam C
Rashid
Topley
Wood

7 bowling options and decent batting depth. May get into a pickle if they are asked to bat first but its the best they can do under the circumstances, IMO.

For India, word is we may see Chahal for Kuldeep. I would rather see Chahar come in for Kuldeep. And of course, SKY for Shreyas but it seems they are considering Pant, which is nonsense.

I'd like either of Rohit or Kohli to take rest & give opportunity to both Pant & Surya. Pant as an opener with field restrictions seems to be a tempting option. SKY at 4 seems great as well. Unlikely to happen tho. No idea why Rahul Chahar isn't in ODI line up. He should be ahead of both kuldeep & Chahal atm

Rashid, Mooen duh! Those two somnambulists can't field and are so comical looking amidst other agile athletes of the English team. That's like just 9 player team.

Lol as if Chahal etc are super agile. Experts in dropping dollies & comical fielding display. Scooters like Jadhav & Rayudud have played for us. Rashid Mooen are decent fielders I'd say.

Good to see Topley in the side, looked quite impressive in his comeback against Ireland.
