Just watching highlights from now on of this series. Only probably keen watching Conway and Young to see how they go. Need some good quality cricket to motivate to watch the rest of the series.

Hopefully the T20 squad will be announced soon. Need a bit of notice to take the day off work and head down to Eden Park for the double-header, if the squad is to my liking.

With a couple of games of club cricket under his belt, Ferguson has now joined the ODI squad and is training fully, with an eye on a return for the Twenty20 series against Bangladesh, which starts March 28.

"With the T20 squad being named tomorrow, it's great to see Lockie [Ferguson] back and on track for that as well," Stead adds.

"Trent Boult led a superb opening spell, with Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson and Jimmy Neesham providing timely breakthroughs throughout the innings."

Some good cricket journalism here

Bangladesh where abysmal game 1
We're going to have to be patient with Bangladesh. They are finally leaning towards giving their pacers some game time rather than just a diet of okish finger spin and helpful pitches. This will eventually make them more competitive but it is going to take a while.

I had to remind myself on our recent tour that the likes of England and India performed even worse than us, it is an insanely difficult place to tour for anyone, even those teams with decent seam attacks.

Bangladesh still got a chance to win game 2 considering kane williamson is not playing, would anyone have a wager on them to win game 2 at 5/1

Just wondering where NZ posters are at on Latham as a potential T20I player in Indian conditions. Just not dynamic or anywhere near dudebro enough in his shot range and far too slow, even if NZ's been known to have a few team scorecards that look like this in an Asian WT20 tournament in the past?

With Conway also having a great record against spin (apart from part timers and albeit not tested in Asia), you’d think him and Williamson have the anchor role that Latham would fill sewn up.

Yes the reason I asked was spurred by a friend saying that just to his eye on Saturday, he couldn't picture Conway having a good WT20 at all. I see a warm-up series against India is on the cards though, so maybe they'll pick up on the weakness there.

Latham should be in every T20 team IMO, have said that for a long time. I wonder if he wants to though, not turning out for the Super Smash surely isn't good for his chances.

Taking Seifert's place? Not in NZ conditions but I agree, Latham the better bat in subcontinent. Although potentially they're shooing him away from T20 to keep technique in tact?

We've chosen to bowl again. Fingers crossed for 250+!

Why would you not back the batting line up to put a total up..

I've only just realised that this game is at Hagley - can't be easy for Bangladesh to return there after what happened in 2019.
