weldone has been a dick to a whole bunch of people in the Indian Politics thread for a long time simply because at some point they defended one or more of Modi's bad policies. He should first look in the mirror.

I think it's really hard to convince people who don't go into the political forum that we're not being dicks for the sake of it.

I guess this is a big part of it. I mostly stay away from N&P aside from the odd scan of the Brit Pol thread. And I've found this thread very uncomfortable reading the past couple of days because it honestly reads straight up like people I like bullying someone off the forum. I see people saying that SS and Weldone have posted offensive stuff elsewhere and I can believe that, but despite some weird posting, the treatment they've received in this thread isn't proportional to what they've said in this thread.

If they were banned for offensive posting, or even the infamous 'forum atmosphere' transgression I wouldn't be bothered, but the past few pages here aren't a good look imo.

Yea I don't really like weldone or SS that much either, both because of their attitude's and opinions, but nevertheless it's not cool seeing everyone gang up on them. I feel that's crossing beyond what acceptable community behaviour should be, regardless of the reasoning behind it.

The fact that they got banned and have now rage quit shows that the system is fine without having to piss over their graves once they're gone.

We really shouldn't be priding ourselves on chasing away members we don't like either.
