Didn't gayle just have one of his best ever ipls after looking finished the entire year before? He didn't get picked in last years hundred draw because he looked so bad. Started ok the bench for the first few ipl games and his team kept losing so they bought him in and he almost got them to the finals along with kl Rahul. This was only 5 months ago or so. He isn't done he has just had 3 low ipl scores.
His fielding on the other hand is completely shot lol
I'd keep him in the squad for sure. Just worried about some of his dismissals, like my siding a slow straight ball from Sandakan.

Looking forward to this ODI series. Our batting is in reasonable shape, apart from the need to rotate strike slightly better. But our bowling was awful pre-pandemic (apart from Alzarri) and there are definitely places in our attack that are up for grabs. My team for today is:

Evin Lewis
Shai Hope (wk)
Darren Bravo
Nicholas Pooran
Kieron Pollard
Kyle Mayers
Jason Holder
Fabian Allen
Romario Shepherd
Alzarri Joseph
Akheil Hossein

Though they might well opt for Jason Mohammed ahead of Mayers as he brings reasonable part time off spin to the table and is a right handed batsman. I just fear the strike rate issues that would be cause by a Hope, Bravo, Mohammed combo.

Key might well be how on earth we play Hasaranga.

I love how every post that @windiescricket posted up yesterday was of the batsmen practicing hitting the long ball...& in the comments most of them had a common theme: rotate the strike.

Windies fans are smart. We know BS. The media person for Windies cricket should be shamed.

That was a poor over from Alzarri. Too predictable, the batsmen waited and smacked him for three boundaries.

And yet no one bowling from around the wicket

That was completely unintentional.

The law says willful. Pretty harsh decision.

Very harsh decision but wasn’t Stokes given out under the same circumstances (accidental) a few years ago? Kind have to stick by that precedent then I guess.

Having home umpires hardly helps in that situation either. Not sure how it was given soft signal out but hard to overturn it when that happens.
